Love in blindness, die in innocence

What a weird movie, I was thinking about it while watching "Bad Land". Not to mention the characteristics of road films, as far as the narrative alone is concerned, it makes people think a lot, because the dialogue of the whole film is not too much. Compared with other movies, the special feature is the inner monologue of the heroine. In fact, the story is driven by the inner monologue of the heroine Holly, which builds a skeleton for the film.
But if you rely on this alone, it is actually not a strange word, because movies with full monologues are not unavailable. Movies such as "Confessions" are clearly distinguished from ordinary movies. What makes me even more puzzled by "Evil Land" is actually some subtle things between the characters in the film.
The story told in the article is very simple, but it is the story of the male protagonist Kit who killed the father of the female protagonist Holly (holly) and then eloped with the female protagonist and was finally caught. It looks pretty bloody, but kit Holly is not playing the role of a savior, because the relationship between the heroine and his father is very good, and the ghost father in Japanese TV series does not exist. There is no doubt that the heroine Holly loves kit, and she won't elope with kit if she doesn't come later. Maybe this is Malik's understanding of love. Even if you kill my father, I will still follow you. Love is so blind that both young people fell deeply into the blind spot and did something wrong.
In fact, when the male protagonist starts to say the first line, he can feel the coldness of the male protagonist, and the tone is very small. Perhaps now, it may feel that there is no language tension that the opera should have, but judging from the tone of this film, It seems that this is due to the character of the male lead. An American feeling of straight male cancer. No matter what I do, there is a reason. Maybe the reason is just that you don't let your daughter be with me. Holly felt sad after seeing her father killed by her beloved boy, but she also felt relieved, full of indifference. After all, she wanted to be with Kit, and the thing that prevented them from being together was his father. Holly pursues love. This is something she has never experienced in her life. She is not pretty. When Kit appears in front of him, she feels that she will be with him in this life.
I have to say that the American people at that time all appeared in the film in an inexplicable simplicity. For example, when Kit two fled to Kit’s friend’s house, Kit found that their friend was strange, so he opened his mouth without saying anything. After being shot, he ran forward to help him into the house. The friend was injured and sat on the bed without saying a word. Maybe if thoughtful, betraying a friend is not good, but now he deserves it. I think so for him. . Then when Kit robbed the middle class, the rich people were very cooperative with Kit. They were neither humble nor arrogant, nor resisted. Kit two would meet their needs. There is no impression that capitalism regards money as fate.
In short, the whole film will give you a feeling of refreshing the three views, but what remains the same is that dreams are always more cruel than reality. In Malick’s movies, boys always appear to be very hardworking and excited. They don’t care about the amount of money and material quality, and pursue the ideal life of the pursuit, but girls are different. They pursue love, but they are more likely to be defeated by the cruel reality. After discovering that ease can actually bring a sense of security, Holly slowly began to get tired of the escape life, and Kit didn't know it, thinking that being together is good. After all, everyone is still too young and naive. The reality is a bad soil. Its cruelty makes you think that what you think is what you think it is, but in fact it is not what you thought you did for a long time.

Badlands quotes

  • Holly Sargis: [voice over narration] Then sure enough Dad found out I been running around behind his back. He was madder than I ever seen him. His punishment for deceiving him: he went and shot my dog. He made me take extra music lessons everyday after school, and wait there 'till he came to pick me up. He said that if the piano didn't keep me off the streets, maybe the clarinet would.

  • Father: [to Kit] I don't want you hanging anymore. I don't wanna see you again. Understand?
