The Weather Man

Just finished Nicolas Cage's new work "Bangkok Killer" in 2008.

I don't know why, but every new work of his makes me miss him so much.

When I first met this man, he was already a guaranteed box-office action star. The moment when Castor Troy got on and off the tarmac in "Changing Faces", the hem of the trench coat lifted and the dialogue between If I were to let you suck my tongue, would you be grateful? makes him the only one who can always make me scream with excitement Big villain.

I only watched his "Leaving LasVegas" in 2005. The down-and-out screenwriter came to the casino that never sleeps just to court death, and never had sex with the prostitute who finally fell in love.

The pale face, the trembling hands that could not be restrained, and the eyes that were always confused and hopeless while holding the wine bottle under the prosperity.

A little golden man.

I fell in love with this man from that moment on.

Italian descent, pale blond hair, loves independent movies, has been in a relationship with Elvis Presley's daughter, is not handsome, and his often sad face may be due to his natural splayed eyebrows.

And the one that brings me the most is always The Weather Man.

It seems to be classified as a comedy on emule, I don't know the basis, at least I didn't laugh.

Also, did not cry.

It's a very peaceful movie, like when Robert told his son that he had cancer. Calm and solid.

Chicago's gray winter,

middle-aged men with failed marriages, embarrassing celebrities who seem to have everything but live a whole bad life.

Daughter's overweight, son's homosexual harassment, father's cancer, realistic.

Can't get rid of the pressure of father's success and the shadow of marriage failure, invisible.

In fact, vaguely, David knew that he was trapped. Failure not only stemmed from not handling the problems in life, but also because of what he was doing? Every time he was attacked by fast food, he did not even express his anger in a hurry.

Action without purpose is absurd, and it is easy to recall Gibran's words: We have come so far that we forget why we set out.

Loved every scene David had with his father, lots of silence, occasional dialogue, very subtle.

Such an adult parent-child relationship may be very similar to the traditional Chinese parent-child relationship.

Adult men suppress and control their emotional expressions. Sons expect confirmation from their fathers, and fathers always express their dissatisfaction in details. However, they are both full of love and pride for each other deep down in their hearts.

Finally, the old gentleman played by Michael Caine still said it. Eazy dosn't enter into grown-up life. There

is also a saying, This shit life, we must chuck some things.

, to abandon what others think of themselves.

When life gives you some sweetness, I just want to lead you by the nose. Sweet is easy to addicted, addicted to lose direction, wild horses become livestock.

Don't do that, so fight back.

In the end, David, who was wearing a suit and leather bow and arrow, walked in the crowd,
and there was no more fast food attack, no more confusion.
He said,
I remenber once, imaging what my life would be like, what I'd be like.
I pictured having all these qualities, strong positive qualities that people
could pick up on from accross a room.

But as time passed ,
few ever became any qualities I actually had ,
and all the posibilities I faced ,
and the sorts of people I could be,
all of them got reduced every year to fewer and fewer
until finally they got reduced to one to who I am.

And that's who I am.

A self-certifying story.
If you are a weather forecaster, then you have to believe that you are a weather forecaster.
If you believe you are a weatherman, you are a weatherman.

The Weather Man quotes

  • Robert Spritzel: I read your book.

Dave Spritz: Fuck. I was gonna do, some more work on it, then I chucked it.

    Robert Spritzel: You chucked it?

    Dave Spritz: Garbage.

Robert Spritzel: I-it's just what I do, David, I've practiced and I've gotten good. Like you and the weather business.

Dave Spritz: But I don't predict it. Nobody does, 'cause i-it's just wind. It's wind. It blows all over the place! What the fuck!

  • Russ: Dave.

    Dave Spritz: Hi Russ.

Russ: He's upstairs, he's still pretty upset about it.

Dave Spritz: Did he talk about it?

    Russ: Yeah. .

    Dave Spritz: To you?

Russ: He's told us what happened, uh, he was with his counselor Don Boden, I guess...

Dave Spritz: I don't really know why what happened next, happened. He was talking about my son, and I was taking my gloves off.

    [slaps Russ with his glove]

    Russ: What the fuck?

Dave Spritz: Why are you here?

    Russ: What are you doing?

Dave Spritz: Why, are you here?

    Russ: I'm helping Noreen!

Dave Spritz: Why are you helping?
