The Conjuring 3 is really not bad

I don't suggest that because we have seen Wen Ziren's director well before, we add the precondition of "it must be bad if it is not directed by Wen Ziren" when we watch the whole movie.

Under the epidemic, American horror movies are actually quite empty. I haven't seen any outstanding horror movies in the first half of 2021. The reason why I have always been optimistic about the Conjuring series is that they are willing to connect many of their movies into a total. The story of the movie can be traced back for a long time even arranged in time line. Foreshadowing is secretly planted in each movie. After watching all the movies, there will be many surprises. This is a new attempt in recent years. After all, in the past, most of the horror movies we saw were independent stories, and most of them were scattered. Even the filming was only a sequel to this IP, but in "The Conjuring Universe" we saw the Conjuring series, the Annabelle series, and another The spin-off movie The Curse of the Nun and the Weeping Woman, so instead of calling it the Conjuring Universe, it should be called the Warrens Universe. Their series of films is particularly good, they dare to continuously add new elements into the form of horror films, and they inject expressions of love under the premise of religious horror. From family to love, calling for love is the way to fight against darkness. It is also the trend.

Let's go back to The Conjuring 3, it's really not scary. Extending the jump scare time is not bad given my low expectations. Since it's not a film directed by Wen Ziren, we don't have to judge him by the so-called standard of Wen Ziren we have seen. A young director in 1995, the quality of this film has exceeded my expectations. I personally think that it is very meaningless for horror films to be judged only by being purely scary... It focuses on the process of investigation and exorcism, which increases the suspense of the whole film. Going to stack some cheap horror points, overall, I still think it's good.

I was really moved

The Conjuring 3 is too mediocre, lacking a villain like a ghost nun, a bridge like a clap scene, or even a prominent (haunted house) scene to build the underlying tension through the scene. The background story of the villain is too general and vague, and the motive is not clear. The setting of using love to repel the devil is also easy. Wen Ziren shouldn't always hand over the IP he painstakingly built to these perfunctory new screenwriters and new directors...

There was too much thunder at the beginning, and too little rain at the back. The process of running the map to find clues is too long, the confrontation is weak, and the rhythm is relatively loose. Ed took a sledgehammer and smashed it everywhere. Not only was it not scary, but it looked like a sand sculpture.
