The front background is a bit long, which may make the audience feel that the movie is relatively bland. But after Paul was transferred and one of the kidnappers was killed, things got better. The game between the kidnapper and Mark, and the game between the mother and the old man are very exciting.
Many times, the story was pushed to the limit but left a ray of life. For example, in desperation, the mother thought of the gadgets that the old man gave to her son, but did not expect it to be a $10 street stall. The old man finally decided to pay the ransom, but he did not expect that the quid pro quo was for the mother to hand over custody of the child.
All the surprises are reasonable, making the cliché story of kidnapping into a thrilling blockbuster, and at the same time showing us the complex human nature, which is really the work of a big director.
