In my opinion, there is no major problem with Getty's handling of the grandson kidnapping case (proclaimed to the media not to give a penny, and privately transferred his confidant back from Africa to investigate and deal with the matter).
The main problem for Getty is that he abandoned his son when he was a child and failed to fulfill his responsibility of raising and educating him. He didn't help until his son was an adult and when he came to him. But a person's character, the most important formative period is childhood. That is to say, due to the absence of his father, his son became a cowardly character and a lack of responsibility. When he gave his son a chance, his son lacked the ability to manage his work.
Another problem for Getty is that he lost custody of his grandson, and therefore gave up his training, and the grandson fell. This is also a mistake. Of course, this is mainly due to his son's unsatisfactory performance (he offered his son the position of vice president, but his son was indulging in sensuality, taking drugs...), and it was also related to the heroine.
The heroine does not fight for steamed bread, disregarding her son's wishes, and resolutely brings her son, who is studying with the richest man in the world, back to his remote hometown and lives a life of extreme poverty.
She only considers her own thoughts, regardless of her son's feelings and future. The son fell from the top of wealth to abject poverty, and his psychology was greatly unbalanced and distorted. Later, he was tortured by kidnapping, and his mental balance became even more unbalanced. In the end, he spent his life in drug addiction and indulgence.
If he stays by Grandpa's side, Grandpa expects to focus on cultivating him and make him the family heir. Perhaps he will learn from his grandfather's shrewdness and ability and become a qualified heir.
