Life is a practice that never ends, because there is still reincarnation.

Chun The
young monk and the old monk practice together. The young monk tied the three animals with ropes. When the old monk discovered it, he tied a stone behind him and ordered him to untie the ropes of the three animals, otherwise he would have to continue to be tied. The old monk said: If those animals die, you will carry this big stone in your heart in your future life. Buddhism advocates equality for all living beings. And our initial "mistakes" are all due to ignorance and rash action in one thought, so the twelve karma unfolds, and good and evil karmic obstacles follow. This is the law of the universe, and it is inevitable that no one can escape, so the little monk officially entered the cycle of reincarnation.

's sick girl was sent to recuperate, and the little monk who had grown into a teenager had an erotic relationship with her. The old monk said: Lust awakens the desire to possess. Buddhists will never stop the love between men and women, but they point out: all evils are the first. The so-called prostitution does not just refer to this point, all greed, possession, and lust are all included in it. Of all attachments, love attachment is the most difficult to break. When the heart of love is ignited, everything will be triggered.
The young monk left the place of practice in the middle of the night to find the girl who was sent away. He took away the Buddha statue he enshrined. Each of us has our own karmic gathering, which is a kind of direction and a kind of destiny. Everyone has their own way to go, and the old monk understands that nature will not stop it. The time has come for the young monk, and he is destined to go through this fate, just doom. What about taking away the Buddha statue? It's just a form, if you have a Buddha in your heart, you won't go at all.

The old monk Qiu
welcomed the fugitive young monk who killed his cheating wife. The old monk said: Why is it painful? The young monk said: I only want her, but she betrays me! The old monk said: Don't you know? What you like, others will like. The violence, cruelty, and resentment in the eyes of the young monk did not disappear because of his wife's death, but became more and more terrifying and profound. This is a manifestation of a person's anger. Because of the ego, the anger of others is like this, so it will cause a catastrophe.
The young monk knelt while covering his facial features in front of the Buddha, only to be hanged up and beaten by the old monk, his skin ripped apart. When you do something wrong, the most terrifying state is regret. The emotion of regret will pull people into the endless abyss, and no matter what you do, you can't escape its clutches. It is a good choice to exchange physical pain for this. Emotions need to be vented. The old monk understands that the current corporal punishment is the best choice.
The old monk said: Although you can kill people easily, you can't kill yourself easily. And let him use a knife day and night to carve the "Heart Sutra" on the wooden floor, and the young monk did it correctly. (I like this passage very much, and always think that whether one can pass repentance is the key to whether a person can deeply study the Dharma. For repentance, I have done hard work. Until now, every time I recite the sutras, I will mention a few Those who have been hurt by me in the past will dedicate their merits and virtues to them. Repentance is a homework and must be done by those who study Buddhism. And the Heart Sutra is a very powerful scripture. Sutra can enlarge the heart.) After one night, the Heart Sutra was engraved on the floor. During the whole process, the mind of the young monk was also re-washed, and there was no more resentment and pain. Return with the detective who came to capture him.
The old monk used his strength to trap the hull of the boat, trying to make the young monk look back at him. This move just confirmed what the Buddha said: turning back is the shore.
The old monk passed away. In this scene, many people do not understand why the old monk committed suicide, which involves a story in the Buddhist scriptures. At that time, Shakyamuni crossed everyone, but no sentient beings could cross, and even became a Buddha and became a Buddha. The old monk has also completed his mission in this world and has passed the young monk, so his actions constitute his nirvana.
And all of this happened in the harvest season of autumn, and the fate of the old monk and the young monk was finalized. The middle-aged monk who returned from his sentence in

winter returned to the place where he practiced.
Meanwhile, a woman delivered a baby boy who drowned. The middle-aged monk finally came to a realization. At this time, he took over the baby and started another round of his own destiny. The woman was probably a young girl back then, and the moment the middle-aged monk lifted her turban, you could see the sudden realization from her limbs.

That little baby became a little monk, and what he did was just his own cycle of reincarnation. The story ends.

Kim Ki-duk has some well-known films, but I only chose to watch this one. Maybe he is a Buddhist practitioner, or he may not want to touch some serious things. In short, this film is more harmonious in terms of framing, meaning and even rhythm. Buddhism is actually a very large system, and it is a view of the universe. It's impossible to include it all in one movie alone. As someone has said, it is a sin to write a review for this type of film.
