World Trade Center

John and Will are police officers in New York City. On 9/11, they were dispatched to rescue the wounded. But they had no idea what fate would be like. After the building collapsed, their rescue team was crushed under the rubble. John and Will were the only surviving police officers from the rescue team. They experienced all the pain that ordinary people could not imagine under the rubble.
They worked tenaciously and finally supported the volunteer rescuers. When they were rescued, they were very excited. Yet the suffering they endured was unimaginable.
Five years have passed since 9/11, but its tragic scene is still vivid in my mind. Obviously, the collapse of the World Trade Center building is the eternal pain of proud Americans. It didn't make it to the screen until this year. However, a movie with a big theme and a big production will be opposed if you are not careful, not to mention that "World Trade Center" boldly chose to be released on the eve of the fifth anniversary of 9/11. What kind of answer will Oliver Stone hand over? He is not afraid of people's tongues, and his mind shines in this film. Think about it, if this so-called "disaster rescue film" can dig out the truth of human nature, then Oscar will not give it an explanation. Therefore, this work is also the most anticipated work this summer.

Uncle Stone's favorite subject. Reminds me of flight 93

Americans are dead. Disaster films are inevitably sensational and always moved, but it does not mean that this is a good film (difficult to agree with and mediocre plot). Just watch it for Maggie Gyllenhaal.

World Trade Center quotes

  • John McLoughlin: [Narrating] "9/11 showed us what human beings are capable of. The evil, yeah, sure. But it also brought out the goodness we forgot could exist. People taking care of each other for no other reason than it was the right thing to do. It's important for us to talk about that good, to remember. 'Cause I saw all of it that day."

  • Dave Karnes: It's like God made a curtain with the smoke, shielding us from what we're not yet ready to see.
