I watched two Indian films in succession in the past two days, one is "My God" and the other is "Little Lolita's Uncle Monkey God". As far as expectations are concerned, I prefer "My God", after all, this is a movie introduced by domestic theaters and received rave reviews, not to mention Aamir Khan's "Three Silly Troubles in Bollywood" this high-profile movie. The excellent performance in the high-quality comedy makes me look forward to this movie even more. However, expectations are often inconsistent with reality. The performance of this film is quite satisfactory, and it is difficult to surpass "Three Silly". In other words, I actually watched it in fast-forward.
In comparison, "Little Lolita's Uncle Monkey God" made me full of surprises.
Before commenting, let's learn some historical knowledge.
India on the map is flanked by two countries, both named Pakistan. In fact, Pakistan is a country, but it is divided into two parts by India. After World War II, Pakistan was part of India, and the whole of India was a British colony. Under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, Indians also fought for independence. In the end, the British withdrew from India, and the Indians took over the autonomy. But there were two main religions in India at that time, most Indians believed in Hinduism and others believed in Islam. There has always been conflict between adherents of the two religions. In the end, the two sides agreed to establish two countries, most of the territory was allocated to India, inhabited by people who believed in Hinduism, and the other part of the territory was divided for believers who believed in Islam, and Pakistan was established, divided into East Pakistan and West Pakistan. Eventually Dongba became independent for Bangladesh.
Although many extreme religious elements have caused harm to society and the world, I still have admiration and envy for most of the believers. I admire people of faith because in their world, there are fears. All religious beliefs are centered on persuading people to do good, but they are misinterpreted by different people in terms of expression. I envy those who have faith, because with faith, life will not be aimless, there will be guidance when you are confused, and there will be strength when you are difficult, and these are precisely what fragile human beings lack. Faith is a serious matter. To be respected, and more importantly, to be feared. Fearless people do extreme things.
"Islam" is a transliteration of an Arabic word, which means "obedience". Of course, the obedience here is not obedience to anyone, but refers to obedience to God, the creator of heaven and earth. The word also has another meaning, which is "to achieve peace", which declares the purpose of this religion - to achieve peace in human society and all living things. People who practice Islam are called Muslims. "Muslim" is a derivative of the word "Islam", which means "one who submits to Allah", "one who makes peace". (Excerpted from Encyclopedia) The Allah that Islam believes in is Allah, and the Prophet is Muhammad. In fact, Allah is the God of Christianity, and there are many prophets of God, Moses and Jesus. . . . . . Muhammad was the last prophet. The same god eventually gave rise to different religions.
Hinduism is more complex, belief in many gods, the main god is Brahma. Don't make comments here if you don't understand.
Alright, here's the background introduction. The film mainly tells the story of an adult man who believes in the monkey god in India, and a six-year-old girl from Pakistan who believes in Muslims. This kind of plot with young and old is the most likely to arouse people's sympathy. "This Killer Is Not Too Cold" and "White Rabbit Candy", the innocent and kind male protagonist, the beautiful and lovely little girl, and the strange cp produce strange effects. In this film, the first half is like "This Killer Is Not Too Cold", and the second half is like "Difficult Brothers and Difficulties". Put on a unique Bollywood coat and present us with a mellow and delicious curry feast.
Beautiful Pakistani pastures, simple pastoralists, gathered to watch cricket matches. The opening scene of a harmonious family is reminiscent of childhood, a yard of neighbors watching TV together. Harmonious pictures always have discordant sounds. The pure and lovely little girl Shahida is born unable to speak. In order to allow the child to speak, the mother bravely took the responsibility of taking the child to a temple in India (which should be a holy place in the Muslim faith) to make a wish. In the end, by accident, the little girl Shahida was lost.
In this face-seeing era, I have to say that Shahida's beautiful and lovely appearance has won the love of Indian uncles. He not only took in Shahida, but also named her Mooney and took her back to his fiancee's house.
Predictably, when the fiancée's family learned that Shahida was Pakistani, they were angry and resentful. The uncle in India believes in the monkey god. Although I thought about giving up and leaving behind, but in the end, under the belief of the monkey god, I took on the responsibility of escorting Shahida home alone. He crossed the fence and stubbornly asked for the consent of the border officers and soldiers; by accident, he was regarded as an Indian spy and wanted by the local police; fortunately, he moved a reporter through his sincerity and traveled with him through various Obstacles, take the kids home. All the hardships along the way finally turned into a relaxed Indian humor, which made people cry while laughing, and not only worried about Uncle Monkey God. In the second half, the scene of Uncle Monkey God and the reporter fleeing with their children is very similar to "Brother in Difficulty", sometimes pretending to be a woman, sometimes pretending to be a husband and wife, haha, but also having fun in the hardship.
The ending took a twist. Uncle Monkey sacrificed himself and attracted the attention of the police, so that the reporter could take Shahida back to the green mountain home alone.
However, the reunion of the small family is not the end. In order to save his dignity, the angered police insisted on making Uncle Monkey God a genuine Indian spy. And our lovely reporter, through the power of the Internet, mobilized the people of India and Pakistan to jointly rescue Uncle Monkey God. When both ends of the border fence are filled with people of the two countries with different beliefs and the same purpose, the reunion of the big family is the final outcome of this film. We can see that, regardless of religious and national differences, all people can respect and love each other; we can also see that whether it is the monkey god or Allah, sincerity finally makes Shahida speak.
This film is fictitious, but the sincere hearts of the producers behind the film are not fictitious. Peaceful coexistence and mutual love are the common dream of all.
God forced mankind to stop building the Tower of Babel, making mankind turn away from each other. However, in order to maintain divinity, God should let human beings live together in the same world, yet separate thousands of rivers and thousands of mountains? So what about God's mercy?
Faith is sacred and should be thought deeply!
