As a Chinese with more traditional ideas, I suddenly found it difficult to accept the plot!
This is really not a beautiful love story, at least according to the traditional concept, isn't this the so-called scavenging? Perhaps, true love is supreme, and nothing can be ignored. However, I think the plot development of the story lacks some inevitability. Their feelings come too quickly and without any warning, as if they are forcibly pulling people from two different worlds and different centuries together. Where did they fall in love with each other? Doesn't seem to be there? As a woman fell in love with a man, you can temporarily develop a secret love from the time when the duke took her on horseback to chase the thief. But what about the duke? Since when did you fall in love with this urban white-collar who has been yelling and screaming and has been in a state of madness? What made the baron fall in love with the heroine? So I personally think it is really far-fetched!
I think this kind of plot setting may be more acceptable!
The ex-boyfriend is set as a college classmate who has a crush on the heroine, but the heroine just treats the male partner as a buddy, because the heroine herself has an image of an independent, strong, tenacious and hard-working urban beauty. And the gentlemanly demeanor of the male protagonist himself, polite, erudite, moderate in advance and retreat, and good self-cultivation itself is very attractive. Comparing the male protagonist's demeanor with the impetuous, exaggerated and hypocritical men in the current city highlights the invaluable demeanor of a real gentleman. In particular, the male protagonist's teaching and influence on the female protagonist's younger brother changed the female protagonist's younger brother, and the female protagonist could see more clearly the duke's beautiful character in addition to being weird and old-fashioned. Personally, I feel that the conflicting part in the film--the male protagonist refuses to speak for the unpalatable butter, and the refusal to shoot the setting is a more commendable part.
