There is light in the dark

Don't watch the spoiler before watching the movie, there are many less surprises.

The dark side of human nature is really vividly shown in this film, the viciousness of the police and the derailed woman, the indifference of the male protagonist, and even the people who save you on the roadside in Indian society are all to cut your kidneys. Fortunately, there is evil retribution, damn it, and the living also live in remorse.

Although human nature is like this, the feelings for family and lovers are indeed true, and the love of the male protagonist is so beautiful. There is no discrimination against blind people, and he never gives up on his own husband. These are the opposite of human nature and also the light in the darkness.

The first 2/3 perfectly restore the essence of the short story. The tension and suspense are infinitely magnified, and the sense of substitution is very strong. Many shots allow the audience to directly enter the protagonist's perspective, feel the surprise and shock, and feel numb and walk on thin ice. I haven't seen the reversal in the first 10 minutes of the first episode, the first time I saw the crime scene but I had to turn a blind eye, and the first time I was tested at the door... That horror mask really scared me. Who wants to let things go to the point of doom? Can't help myself, I can't argue with a hundred words, it's absolutely amazing. But the last 1/3 of the reversal was slightly discouraged. The more people got into the situation, the sense of suspense was weakened. Fortunately, the setting of the final reversal was broken again. Indian suspense films are actually so beautifully shot, and this year is not inferior to the thriller reversal masterpiece of "Mirage".

I bought wine and snacks with my roommate, and watched this in my bedroom. As a small observation, the rabbit in the opening scene is actually blind because the close-up of its eyes is foggy and it hits the scarecrow while running away. The rabbit is a metaphor for the fate of the "blind" pianist. Personally, I don't think so many reversals are needed, but it is indeed a good story. My roommate drank Grey Elephant beer, and I drank the soju, which was a good drink, and I was a little dizzy.

Andhadhun quotes

  • Inspector Manohar Jawanda: What color is your cat?

    Akash: Black and white.

Inspector Manohar Jawanda: How do you know?

    Akash: I was told.

    [calls the cat]

    Akash: Rani.

Inspector Manohar Jawanda: You cook for yourself?

Akash: Forget about me, Sir. Look for Rani, please. Rani might get run over.

    Inspector Manohar Jawanda: Water?

    Akash: Chilled?

    [quickly pours water]

    Akash: Water.

Inspector Manohar Jawanda: Today's newspaper? What for?

Akash: To collect cat poo, sir.

    [gropes the inspector]

Akash: You're here? Please look for Rani. I'm lost without her.

    [hears the bus horn]

Akash: Sir, Bandu's school bus. Slap him hard to make him confess. Last week he tied a firecracker to Rani's tail. She ran amok. She hid indoors for two days. That's no good.

[Inspector throws a knife at Akash]

    Akash: What was that? Rani?

    [finds the cat]

Akash: Rani. Where were you? Come, baby. Eat something. You haven't eaten for two days. Good girl.

  • Pramod Sinha: Can you play my songs as well?

Akash: Sure. I'll just play them.

Pramod Sinha: No, not here. Come to my house tomorrow for a private concert. I'll be there along with my wife. She loves the actor Rajesh Khanna. Play his numbers. She'll be happy. Here. Here's my address. And an advance. You'll get more later. One o'clock.
