A masterpiece at a low cost

2021.2.2

This is the first war movie I'll see in 2021. I have a hunch that this will also be my favorite war movie this year.

One of the important reasons why I like war movies is that I like swords, lights, swords, and cannons. To give a more specific example: the process of detonating a time bomb in a building - the countdown to the bomb made me hold my breath, the moment the gunpowder exploded, my blood was throbbing, and the broken walls after the detonation made my heart throb...

But this small-cost "Eye in the Sky" does not have these exciting big scenes. In that case, why do I have a hunch that I will fall in love with it this year? Because "Eye in the Sky" perfectly fits another important reason why I love war films: reflection on war, torture of human nature, and exploration of ethics.

I think the dilemma in the film can be summed up as a variant of the classic "trolley problem". The main point of change is that if no air strike is launched, the terrorists may still be killed or arrested after they leave the gathering room. ; Even if an air strike is launched, the innocent little girl by the house will not necessarily be killed. Although there is a slight chance of a perfect ending to the puzzle in Eyes of the Sky, as with the classic trolley puzzle, there are the same philosophical ethics behind both dilemmas. According to my understanding, the essence of the problem is whether the behavior of sacrificing the interests (lives) of a few people to save the interests (lives) of the majority is worth affirming and implementing.

Countless sages have launched endless debates and summaries on this issue. I have been busy with my studies recently, and "the blank space in the book is also a little small", so I will not express my humble opinion. I will have the opportunity to chat around the fire in the future and tell it slowly. Today I want to pour my ink into the details of the film that make me feel wonderful.

1,

Politicians are playing ball with each other, and legal advisers are constantly looking for evidence, by contrast. The cooperation between military representatives of various countries is relatively simple and efficient. Although the soldiers of various countries have their own pros and cons, but in the final action, they are very firm and brave. The British general's last words were the finishing touch: "Never tell a soldier that he doesn't know the cost of war"

Of course, politicians and legal advisers are also right. After all, the butt decides the head and what industry to do.

There is also a very ironic point: the leaders of high authority keep talking on the phone and discuss, but they are unable to make a choice. And in the end, it was only the most humble sergeant who gave them confidence, and he just cleverly revised the result of cde's calculation to estimate casualty rate is approximating 45%.

2. When Xiaofan launched the missile for the first time, he was trembling and could not pull the trigger for a long time. In addition to the inner torment of human nature, there should also be some tension. Because the drones were used to look out for the wind before, this time it was a missile sniper.

The second time she received the order to launch the missile, Xiaofen was much more determined. Not only do you have the experience of launching missiles, but as a soldier, you have already made the choice to kill, so you must carry out the mission to the end.

I think this look and mood is very difficult to perform. But Xiaofan's performance was brilliant and balanced, which gave me a strong sense of substitution.

3. From the perspective of my personal values, the behavior of British female officials is indeed a bit of a virgin, a bit of "woman's kindness". (Of course, her choice is also justified, and there are ethical concepts behind it, so I will not criticize it.) But she has a very interesting point: "It is the al-Shabaab (extremist organization) who is responsible for the deaths of 80 innocent people, we The war of public opinion can be won.”

This sentence is really incisive. The moment I heard this sentence, I felt that the dilemma in the film was solved, because all the sins can be attributed to extremist groups. But if you taste it carefully, compared to an innocent little girl and several terrorist group leaders, the victory of the public opinion war and the saving of more than 80 lives are actually just a bigger "tram problem". In the middle of the game!

4. At the end of the film, the little girl unfortunately died because the rescue was ineffective. First of all, I think this is a reasonable plot. Because after designing a happy ending, it is difficult for the audience to think about and savor the aftertaste of the film.

Secondly, what shocked me more was that the public transportation and medical facilities in Kenyan hospitals were really backward, otherwise the little girl's life would have a greater chance of being saved. In addition to some pictures shown in the previous film: the advanced drones of the United Kingdom and the United States act as the eyes of the sky, and the flexible insect monitors are pervasive; while the terrorists can only sneak in the slums and use the backward human bomb vests.

If it is said that the tram problem really has the best of both worlds, it is probably the development of high-tech.
