I have never seen a film composed entirely of black actors, Xiu Ge is really a charming and excellent woman, confident and self-reliant, and dazzling. Celie's forbearance and persistence, until she resolutely resisted and waited her whole life, were so moving. It is not too late to usher in peace and home in the twilight of life.
The two-and-a-half-hour film is based on Alice Walker's 1982 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. The plot is full of ups and downs, spanning 40 years. From the style of the film, the structure of the story to the cast, it is all different. It has a strong sense of freshness and drama, and it is touching and healing.
“The story celebrates the enduring love and perseverance that dignity can hold even after suffering and suffering.” (Steven Spielberg)
