In America in the old days, Celie, a black girl, was forced to be separated from her sister and children and accepted a difficult life without freedom and dignity. She has witnessed all kinds of things in the black society, and in her later years, with the help of the free and easy black woman Xia Ge, she retrieved her sister's letterhead detained by her husband and regained her rightful life. Just through the movie, you can also see that the original work of this movie must be a work as heavy as "Alive". The screenwriter and director can't really give up these full character stories, so the movie is not very rigorous and neat, and the characters in the play have their own destiny at the end. This is a purely black film, and even if it satirizes the so-called goodness of white people, it is the fate of the characters. The original author is a black woman. She is more concerned with the problems of the black community. Those black men who devalue women do nothing different from white people. Looking at all the characters in the movie, except for the protagonist, it is difficult to pick out flaws in the shaping and changing of characters. On the contrary, there is something confusing about the image of the protagonist, which is also the reason why the protagonist's mood in the original work is too full, and it is difficult to make a clear choice. There is a silly simplicity in her character, which runs through all the time, while the other aspects are difficult to sort out because of the time span of the movie story. The movie can't describe everything in detail, so it can be understood from the emotional side, such as the simplicity she kept growing up in her husband's house, and the more delicate changes brought to her by Xia Ge's appearance as a similar "sister". It is difficult to explain clearly in the existing plot, the film has not done better. The other supporting roles, because the story is relatively simple, each represent a certain image of black people, so they are extraordinarily clear and can leave a deep impression on people. Especially the "resurrected" black woman Sophia, when she straightens up again, speaks loudly, and has no fear of black men, anyone will want to cheer them on.

I 'members that day in the store with Miss Millie - I's feelin' real down. I's feelin' mighty bad. And when I seed you - I know'd there is a God. I know'd there is a God.
