A brief review of the navigation set, a slightly disappointing start.

This article is only an evaluation of the navigation set.

Legend of Tomorrow is a joint derivative drama of Green Arrow and The Flash. It is different from the derivative relationship between Lightning and Green Arrow. You do not need to know the story of Green Arrow when watching the Flash. , As long as you know that there is such a number one character in this world, the stories of the two are basically independent. And eight of the nine resident characters of Legends of Tomorrow and their origin stories are from the Green Arrow and Flash dramas. After watching the navigation episode, you can find that this episode does not give a detailed introduction to the background of these eight characters. , So the audience not only needs to have watched the first two shows, but also has to be very familiar with them, otherwise there will be certain obstacles to watching the show. So, judging from the performance of the navigation episode, Legend of Tomorrow is a new drama, but its positioning is still for the audience of the two dramas Green Arrow and The Flash.

As a superhero drama, the biggest difference between Legend of Tomorrow and other similar dramas is that it is a group drama in the true sense. The nine resident characters in the first episode are not divided into primary and secondary roles. The role positioning and the role of the drama are completely the same. Equivalent, this is different from DC's own Gotham, Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. group drama collections, but this way of handling characters is not a good thing for a TV series. In the first episode, five scenes were used to quickly elicit eight protagonists, and then another five scenes were used to explain their reason and purpose for joining the team. Each character stood in line and said in turn. This way of handling can be said to have completely failed to portray the character and relationship of the characters in depth. It is just walking through the scene, which makes the whole episode seem very loose and runny.

It’s okay to use an even distribution method for group shows, but it’s obviously inappropriate for a 40-minute episode to elicit the entire team while at the same time detailing the worldview and promoting the development of the story. This episode should actually be filmed for 90 minutes, or reduce the amount of information and only talk about team assembly, otherwise the traditional one-master, multiple-assisted narrative approach should be used to advance the story. In fact, the navigation set should also adopt this method, because among the nine resident characters, only the space-time hunter is a brand-new character, and his position in the play happens to be a guide, so he will lead and It is the most suitable for driving the navigation set.

In addition, Legends of Tomorrow has a common problem with the two series of Green Arrow and The Flash, which is that the details are handled perfunctorily. This is actually the most criticized part of the CW superhero drama. This problem can be said to be caused by the production or the screenwriter's own reasons. Like the plot of the spaceship being attacked, the purpose of this scene is to make everyone retreat and pave the way for the ending of someone’s death and the time and space hunter to tell the truth. The meaning is indeed reflected, but the actual effects of the film appear to be different. Kind of inexplicable. A comic-style series does not mean that the audience will treat it as a comic. Different carriers must have different expressions. Television and movies must have a better grasp of details on the lens than the static points of comics. Mirror, simply follow the sub-mirror and draw the calabash gourd, that is definitely not enough. But these episodes are indeed like this, no matter how you complain, if you really want to see some details and plots, you can only rely on your own brain to make up.

From the perspective of the navigation episode alone, Legend of Tomorrow is indeed not very good, but I am actually looking forward to the follow-up development of this drama. One of its special features is that its time-traveling theme can bring strong story expansion and style changes, and it will not be subject to the various constraints brought about by the unified timeline like the Green Arrow and the Flash. So, wait and see. . .
