Life sucks

After watching the film, it turned out to be inexplicably sad, and suddenly felt that no matter how life lived, there was no way out.
If you live a life of peace and quiet, like most people in the town of Mercury, you will be penniless, waiting for your death in silence, you will feel happy, and calmly persuade yourself that you are very happy, like an ex-boyfriend who is chased by a goddess. Buddy and his wife live the same life; if you are not satisfied with living a life that sees old at a glance, pursue your own freedom, throw away your sense of responsibility, refuse to grow up, go to Zuo and toss, then you will inevitably end up looking at you with pity, Judging you, doing things that don't match your age, and being seen as a monster is actually a very embarrassing thing. Whatever kind of life you choose, it is tragic and meaningless to reflect on it from a certain angle.
Movies that don't let the audience use their heads tend to simplify and sweeten life. All the boring and difficult in reality can be transformed into stories on the big screen with inspirational plots, but this is not true. The director who has directed "Juno" and "In the Clouds" is very reluctant to take this inspirational route. He wants to express his understanding of life. Life is not only sweet, but looks at the reality of life apart. There are many places to question and reflect. The best thing about the film "Youth" is that it does not judge or guide values, it only presents, very clearly and profoundly, allowing each of us to observe a part of our own life, or to be content with the dull years. Be quiet, or live a life of free wandering. The film did not make the phenomenon of old leftover women a spectacle, and did not express the protagonist with prejudice. He was very caring and understood the character closely. The screenwriter probably had similar experiences to write the details so well.
Watching our Chinese film and television screenwriters, they haven't learned to be sensitive to social issues, and haven't yet had the ability to deeply understand characters and human nature. Isn't this kind of adult who refuses to grow up everywhere in big cities? We haven't filmed one. Characters with depth. Introspection about the way of life has not been touched by a single film.

  • Mavis Gary: Sometimes in order to heal a few people have to get hurt.

  • Mavis Gary: I just want you to know that I'm feeling everything that you're feeling. Buddy, these last few days have been some of the best in my life.

    Buddy Slade: They have?

Mavis Gary: You don't have to pretend. I know what's in here.

    [touches Buddy's forehead]

Mavis Gary: And I know what's in here.

    [touches Buddy's chest]

Mavis Gary: Buddy, you're my moon. My stars. You're my whole galaxy.

Buddy Slade: [avoids a kiss from Mavis] Mavis! What are you doing?

Mavis Gary: You don't have to be afraid. It's okay. You can come to the city with me like we always planned.

Buddy Slade: What the hell are you talking about?

Mavis Gary: We can work this out. You know we can. We can handle this like adults.

Buddy Slade: Mavis, I'm a married man.

Mavis Gary: I know. We can beat this thing together.

Buddy Slade: You're better than this. I have to go and I think you should leave.
