Connie and Martial met for the first time, and Martial told Connie to read a certain page of a book that read—
"Be happy for this moment.
This moment is your life."
This is the life creed of this young, dashing, bohemian French man who has no family and proves his worth by conquering women. On the train, Connie recalled the first time she had fun with Martial (personally I think this is one of the most exciting scenes in the whole movie), the self in bed and the self on the train are constantly intertwined, from the very beginning. Resisting the enjoyment to the end, the whole process and even recalling it afterwards, she clearly knew what it meant. She was timid and ashamed, but she also repeatedly tasted this passion and pleasure.
