Until the last half hour of the movie (Amy’s boyfriend and the music box had a collision of spirit and flesh), the two protagonists who led the comedy session were not as good as the play, plus the dry dialogue between the characters and the hard jokes. The first half of the movie has always been filled with a breath of embarrassment.
If you consider the difficulties that need to be overcome to make this work from the perspective of the filmmaker, the qualifications of the shooting team and the resources that need to be obtained. The director is obviously barely qualified for filming American dramas. Following the dragging rhythm of the TV series, he tells a story that can be told in 90 minutes, but only finds the right rhythm from 90 minutes. The screenwriter is the screenwriter of the Mind Attack Team and the sixth season of 30 Rock, and he clearly writes something interesting. In terms of investment and production, it should be a product of standard industrialization, so it cannot be said. But with such a group of experienced and talented filmmakers coming together, the results are not satisfactory.
It's like stewing a pot of Mala Tang, the water is not boiled, and the spicy is not put, so I put the meat and vegetables in the pot, and then regardless of the raw or cooked, I take out half of the pot, and the rest is left in the pot. The fire was finally cooked, but when it was served, most of the diners' interest had been swept away. The pot is a good pot, and the ingredients and seasonings are also carefully selected, but it is a pity that the combination fails to meet expectations.
As a veteran fan of SNL, 30 Rock and the two starring actors, I have to say that I am a little disappointed in hating iron and steel. Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, in SNL can use makeup and exaggerated performances to interpret various images and imitate different characters, but in the movie, even ordinary people are anxious, and it is true that ordinary people are the most difficult to act.
