Unyielding Woman - Frida

There were two misfortunes in Frida's life, one was a car accident and the other was Diego.

In fact, she has never been obsessed with life, but she still lives bluntly and optimistically.

She humbly evaluates her paintings in front of others, thinking that her paintings have not reached a high level of skill. But her paintings can directly touch the heart, so that every lonely person can feel the same. Her paintings are like a fishing line, strung together all the sad things in life.

Because she has a hobby of painting, the sadness brought by the car accident will not break her down. At the most unfortunate time, she still optimistically painted butterflies on the plaster on her chest, colorful, and all kinds of butterflies embellished the plain plaster. Isn't this the power that art brings to people? Life is dull and boring. The reason why consumer goods or industrial products can be sublimated to the level of art is not because of the expensive craftsmanship or materials it uses, but because of the creators. Giving it its own emotion at the very beginning is a better validation that art serves the purpose of life.

When Frida married Diego, she painted a self-portrait, and the contrast in the two bodies was impressive. Frida's mother, who angrily called their union an elephant and a dove, couldn't accept her daughter marrying a big, cuddly man who had been divorced twice. The union of the elephant and the dove lasted astonishingly for twenty-five years, until Frida died of an illness. Frida told Diego that their marriage was already a silver one. Diego said it was fifteen days away. Frida corrected him that it was seventeen days. She remembered it so clearly. Three years after Frida's death, Diego Riveda also died.

Frida's life was a life of struggle. Because of the huge damage to her body in a car accident, she was unable to walk normally or have children. She desperately wanted to have her first child, but she miscarried. She frantically asked the doctor for the corpse of the child. She sketched the corpse of the baby in the storage jar. The way she numb her grief was to draw her own heart with a paintbrush.

Later, Diego slept with his sister. She couldn't contain the great sadness. She painted a picture of two selves. One had a big hole in his chest, which was connected to the exposed heart of the other body. With a pair of scissors in hand, I want to cut the blood vessels connecting the two bodies. This is utter despair.

There is also a detail in the film, Frida drew a picture of a man standing by the bed, lying on the bed of a naked woman with multiple knife marks on her body. Diego asked Frida why he wanted to paint such a picture, and Frida replied that she had read in the newspaper that a man had killed his wife. The reason why she painted such a picture is probably to express her anger, or to accuse this ruthless man, and at the same time sympathize with the innocent woman who died.

As an art film, there are many artistic expressions. For example, there are many shots that slowly transform two-dimensional oil paintings into three-dimensional worlds. The magic of makeup technology is amazing, making people feel that the hero and heroine are the characters in the painting. There are also subtle animations added to Frida's original paintings to make the expression more expressive. When Frida and Diego went to New York to participate in the art exhibition, the film used the form of clip art to make the two move dynamically in the collage, reflecting the bustling city scene of New York in the form of contrast between movement and stillness. People's novelty, the form of expression is very artistic.

At the end of the film, Frida was determined to participate in her first film exhibition, but Diego did not agree. She stubbornly went to the exhibition while lying on the hospital bed. In this seemingly miserable reality, she was still very optimistic. She said to the doctor that I didn't leave my hospital bed, and happily cheered to everyone. Whether her death was suicide is still an unsolved mystery, and her family has not identified her. Or this is not important anymore. Frida herself said that she is not obsessed with life, and leaving is the best relief.

Regarding the love between Frida and Diego, the two have never been physically loyal to each other. Both of them pursue a life of intoxication, but painting is their common hobby and the best regulator of their love. The world does not believe that elephants and doves can love for a long time, but the facts teach people that love is not as short-lived and simple as imagined.

There is nothing to complain about in a miserable life. Finding your own joy is the coffee agent for a lifetime.
