[Abstract] The American Korean War novel "Manchurian Candidate" tells the story of the American war hero Sergeant Xiao who was captured and brainwashed on the Korean battlefield and returned to the United States, trying to assassinate the American presidential candidate under the control of the Soviet spy agency. The story of the ultimate defeat after seizing the U.S. power. On the surface, the novel tells the actions of the Soviet Communists in attempting to subvert the American power, but in fact, the characters in the works express the cold war paranoia of the American ruling and opposition parties in the 1950s. The message that the author wants to convey is that the Soviet spy agency cannot subvert American society. What really threatens American society is the Cold War delusion and fear of communism created by politicians such as McCarthy. Nearly half a century later, under the conditions of a comprehensive counter-terrorism by the United States in the 21st century, ``Manchurian Candidates'' (2004) was reappeared on the screen, the Korean War became the Gulf War, and the Cold War delusions evolved into anti-terrorism delusions, fear of communist hysteria. The only thing that has become terrorism hysteria is the nature of American politicians of all ages using various delusions to fight for power and seek personal gain.
