Time can stand still, but it cannot be reversed.

BEN is a senior at the Art Institute who just broke up. After dumping my girlfriend, I started to suffer from insomnia and became immune to time. He found himself with an extra 8 hours and a 1/3 longer life. To kill time, he went to a local supermarket to work night shifts.

Everyone has a way to pass the time during the boring and long night shift. And Ben used his very rich imagination. He imagined that time could temporarily stop. One walks freely in a still world. Ben's fascination with female nudity stems from his childhood. And in the freeze-frame time, you can carefully describe their static beauty. Ben finds himself particularly sensitive to his colleague Sharon's beauty, and finally escapes insomnia in him.

This happened in the movie "Sleepless in the Supermarket". I prefer its name "Love Backwater". It's a British movie. Based on the short film of the same name. Time can stand still, but it cannot be reversed.

Some shots are always remembered. A woman's flowing hair in the sun. Dust illuminated by light. British dusk outside the car window. Walking in a still world. Ben depicts the pose of a naked woman. Everyone's expression in front of the mirror as they prepare for the party. At the end of the film, Ben and Sharon kiss.

A beautiful love story. This movie has more humor and hilarity. Ben can do whatever he wants in his imaginary still world. He could only stop that moment, but not go back in time. Spilled water cannot be recovered.

  • Ben Willis: You see, I've always wanted to be a painter, and like many artists before me, the female form has always been a great source of fascination. I've always been in awe of the power they posses.

  • Ben Willis: I read once about a woman whose secret fantasy was to have an affair with an artist. She thought he would really see her. He would see every curve, every line, every indentation and love them because they were part of the beauty that made her unique.
