Based on the theme of terrorism, this film should first alert a powerful country like the United States: why is there terrorism? Are those so-called desperadoes really simply instigated by the devil, will they recklessly threw themselves into the ranks of killing civilians?
Devil. Why is there a devil? Where did the devil come from?
Or the old Chinese saying: Evil comes from the heart. When Brody put down her consistent morality and humanity and stabbed a knife into Young's chest, Young's rants made Brody instantly collapse into his own shame and reflection. isn't it? When we laugh at the ignorance and ignorance of those terrorists, and hate their brutality and cold-bloodedness, have we ever thought about who taught them all this? We have always stood in the patriarchy of the pagans and the barbarians, playing the role of a benevolent, compassionate and harsh liberator. But we didn't think that they have their lives, our enforced civilization, is just wiping out their culture, wiping out their spirit.
Here I suddenly thought of another film: "Unscrupulous Bastards". This film, like its name, is a typical thing to bury in a cesspit, and the theory it promotes can be used as a propaganda film for terrorism. Of course, I'm not saying that when the enemy stands in front of us, we can only recite the scriptures to him. Strikes are necessary, but revenge psychology should be appropriately controlled.
So in a sense their terrorism and our liberation are synonymous.
Of course, reflecting on politics is only an offshoot of the film's main theme, and it has more pioneering narratives on human nature. This is reflected in the several confrontations between H and Brody in terms of interrogation techniques. H has always insisted on his tough attitude, which has also led him to be accused several times, but has he done anything wrong? The values he pursues are small sacrifices in exchange for big victories, and the sacrifice of the right to life of a few in exchange for the survival of more people. This is also the principle that all legitimate agencies of violence have always followed. Of course, there is nothing wrong. On the other hand, Brody represents the orthodox values of human nature. All people are created equal, and the right to life is paramount. It is not permissible to exchange less for more to destroy human nature. She insists on law and morality. In the beginning, Brody was in a high position in terms of morality and humanity, but as the situation developed, she broke through her bottom line again and again and leaned towards H step by step. When she picked up the knife, she had completely given up everything he insisted on in the first place. However, in the end, when faced with two innocent children, she woke up again, her values suddenly soared from a short-lived low position, she was victorious, she took away the children, and took away the victory of mainstream values.
But what about justice? The judgment of good and evil that H insisted on finally ended in failure. Did he fail completely? When the nuclear bomb detonates, millions of innocent civilians face the deprivation of their lives, whose fault is it? Is giving up millions for the lives of two children what the theory of human nature promises?
The ending of the story tells us that the contest between good and evil and human nature will continue...
