Practicing from an early age

When Violet, played by Aunt May, shows off her power over the dead Beverly in a triumphant gesture, I don't hate her at all, but feel sorry for her.

When did a person begin to cultivate to become shrewd?

Is it from entering the workplace?

Is it from facing the mother-in-law after marriage?

It started when I was very young, when I was still with my parents.

One night, Violet told a sad story to her three daughters.

When she was 13 years old, she fell in love with a boy. The boy was wearing a pair of delicate leather boots, which attracted her deeply. Once, she saw a pair of women's boots in a shop window. She felt that if she wore these boots, she would be a pair with the boy, and they would definitely be together. So she started begging her mother to buy the boots. Whenever my mother asked her what she wanted, she said, I don't want anything but these boots.

It was finally Christmas, and her mother sold her out early, telling her not to open the gifts in advance and to wait until Christmas.

She was very happy when she saw that the gift box was the size of a shoebox, and it was tied with beautiful ribbons. Mother must have bought those boots.

Wait, wait, and finally Christmas morning, she got up early and went under the Christmas tree to unpack the presents. It turned out that the delicate box contained a pair of men's boots with holes, mud and feces.

The whole family laughed when she opened the box.

Aunt May's performance in this part is heartbreaking. In the end she said, I'm so mean, maybe it's like my mother.

It's a creepy story and one that many families have been reincarnating in.

Different versions, different content, but the same kernel.

Home is often not a harbor, but a place where dreams are broken.

Adults are full of malice towards children and oppression of children. The weak who live in this environment must grow up quickly and become stronger and stronger as soon as possible so that they will not be bullied. The strange thing is that when the wings are full, he will become the most annoying person.

At the dinner after the funeral, there was an episode where the whole family laughed at Barbara's daughter. Because her theory of not eating meat is that animals are scared before they die, and if you eat their meat you absorb their fear. This is of course nonsense, but adolescent children are immature in their minds, sometimes babbling, deliberately making some things meaningful and ritualistic, which is the characteristic of that age group. The whole family began to laugh at her. When she couldn't hold back her face and started to resist, the adult's face changed and she was deprived of her right to speak.

Perhaps it was the nightmare of a childhood family plus poverty. The Violet played by Aunt May is determined to be strong all her life. What she calls strong is not the inner perfection of people, but the suppression of others.

In fact, she did not save her husband for another very important reason besides greed for money, that is, hatred of her husband. She knew that her husband cheated with her sister and gave birth to a son. After so many years of knocking out teeth and swallowing blood, only I know the taste. But how could she be stronger than her husband? Her husband was an alcoholic, and she was no better, an addict. She also had cancer, and by convention, she would die before her husband. After she dies, the money goes to her husband, maybe he can still enjoy a comfortable old age, why? ! Life is never fair, let alone emotionally. At this time, her husband wanted to commit suicide, which was exactly what she wanted. Maybe she deliberately tossed her husband and couldn't survive. I'm old, what can I do? To live longer than you is to win over you.

At the last minute of the movie, I thought Big Sister was going to drive back. But no, the car did not turn around and drove forward without hesitation.

After a moment of puzzlement, I understood the eldest sister's choice. She is the daughter most like her mother. Her husband just couldn't stand her control and left. When she scuffled with her mother, she blurted out, "I'm right!" When she asked her sister why she didn't tell her about her cancer, her sister asked back, you and your husband didn't tell me about your separation. She plausibly said that it was different. She hated her mother so much but she was the same kind of person. She resented her mother for not taking care of her father. She didn't care about her mother, and she didn't even care about her father who loved her.

Others interpret the final scene of the film as Barbara got rid of it, and she was relieved. hope so. She herself has a daughter, and the two of them are already at each other's throats and can't communicate at all. In fact, the reconciliation between the two generations is not so easy. There is a scene in the movie Barbara begging to her daughter affectionately: "No matter what happens to you in the future, don't die in front of me." The daughter was unmoved.

Freezing three feet is not a day's cold. Life comes inch by inch, and it is superimposed day by day. It is not a sentence of chicken soup today that can be settled with a handful of tears tomorrow. These emotional moments are just moments, those everyday trivialities are eternal. Some people say that no matter how difficult things are outside, you will feel warm when you get home, and home is your strong backing. People who can have such happiness are lucky.
