Instead of using his familiar multi-segment structure and exploration of language communication, Gonzalez focuses on the humble existence of individual life in the city. The camera has been crawling on the crowded and dirty side streets of Barcelona, and the occasional lifeless towering chimneys and the highly artistic Sagrada Familia are contradictory metaphors. The whole movie is depressing the darkness, and it has always been helpless to find no way out. Every passing life is a tragic piece of music.
