The film "Sky Cataclysm" can be classified as a bad film if only on the surface. However, if you understand the metaphor, it is a very interesting thing.
The protagonist in the story, Jerod, was originally a painter, and was brought to Los Angeles by his friend Terry in the entertainment industry, asking him to help make computer animations. He also said that he had just made a fortune from "Robots". Jerod said: I don't understand computers. Terry said: It's okay, the computer is just a tool.
Here, it is implied that the two protagonists in the film are the incarnation of the director's brother. "Robots" refers to "Transformers 2" where they participated in the production of special effects.
At Terry's birthday party, people were drunk and paralyzed at night, and some people were on drugs. At night, they were suddenly awakened by a blue light, and the aliens invaded.
The stories that happened from here onwards can actually be regarded as the drunken dream of the protagonist's dinner party.
The aliens use blue light as a weapon. As long as people see blue light, they will be sucked out of their brains and become their vassals. The alien spacecraft is powered by the human brain. The U.S. military fought back and shot down the alien mothership with a nuclear bomb.
The meaning here is that, in the eyes of American audiences, Japan invented the Blu-ray Blu-ray DVD format to invade the United States. Although Japan was once defeated by the nuclear bomb of the U.S. military, Japan in the 21st century was revived and invaded the United States using the Blu-ray DVD format. Although the audience was not happy at first, those who watched Blu-ray DVD were all attracted by it, until the world Fallen under Japanese Blu-ray technology.
And to emphasize that this is a metaphor for the invasion of Japan's Blu-ray, the name of the first person sucked by the alien "Blue Light" is "Ray". In addition, a Japanese kamikaze-themed poster was specially hung on the wall of Terry's house, and multiple shots were given to emphasize it.
Although Terry said earlier that "a computer is just a tool", Terry's computer is obviously more than that. His mansion is completely computerized, and even the curtains are drawn by a computer. He also sets the time for the curtains to be drawn: as soon as the day arrives, the curtains are automatically drawn. This is of course convenient in ordinary times, but this time the aliens are outside the window, and the computer that automatically pulls the curtains has become an accomplice of the enemy.
This is probably the director's brother's attitude towards computer stunts.
