Personally, I prefer sci-fi movies. The reason is that one is because I like the story background of sci-fi movies, and the other is that most of the sci-fi movies are well made with good special effects and have more visual effects. It was with these two purposes in mind that I found this film and finished it with admiration.
I'm not talking about the powerful special effects, or the nauseating storyline. I'm just telling the truth, this movie is definitely not a masterpiece. When I watch movies, the first priority is the story, the special effects are second, and the status of the film history is basically ignored. Story-wise, the film isn't even a complete story. At the beginning of the chapter, the alien invasion brought shocking visual effects to the audience. It looked like the fireworks set off at the Beijing Olympics, which was very attractive. But without a full story to back it up, the visuals are really as boring as fireworks, and there's nothing left after the show. The beginning of the film is not bad, but the development is unacceptable. After the alien invasion, people naturally try to find ways to save their lives, but what is the way to save their lives? The film does not give a clear prompt, whether to escape or stay behind, the protagonist is more difficult than the audience to choose, which direction the film will develop, people Can't see, can't guess. As for the climax, it seems that it should be combined with the ending. The hero and heroine chose to escape, but they still had to die. Although the red brain has left a foreshadowing for the audience, I believe that few people will look forward to the sequel to this film.
After watching this film, I really found the ending to be unacceptable. Even if humans can't defeat aliens, they can't let all our protagonists die. What's even more unacceptable is that the protagonist has turned into an alien. I can't think of a sentence, learn from the barbarians and master the barbarians. Could it be that this pair of brothers and directors who share the same name as the father of the waltz also thinks the same way?
In addition to the magnificent special effects, this film has no attractive interior plots. It really deserves to be a low-budget movie. I have seen a lot of low-budget movies, but the feeling of this movie is really bad. It is said that there are more than 800 special effects shots in the whole film. I don't know this data, but I also know that this is a lot. Brother directors with special effects backgrounds are successful in special effects, but they are really bad as directors.
I saw a review about this film on Time.com. It was about the metaphor of this film. It was well written, and I will post this content here.
The aliens use blue light as a weapon. As long as people see blue light, they will be sucked out of their brains and become their vassals. The alien spacecraft is powered by the human brain. The U.S. military fought back and shot down the alien mothership with a nuclear bomb.
The meaning here is that, in the eyes of American audiences, Japan invented the Blu-ray Blu-ray DVD format to invade the United States. Although Japan was once defeated by the nuclear bomb of the U.S. military, Japan in the 21st century was revived and invaded the United States using the Blu-ray DVD format. Although the audience was not happy at first, those who watched Blu-ray DVD were all attracted by it, until the world Fallen under Japanese Blu-ray technology.
And to emphasize that this is a metaphor for the invasion of Japan's Blu-ray, the name of the first person sucked by the alien "Blue Light" is "Ray". In addition, a Japanese kamikaze-themed poster was specially hung on the wall of Terry's house, and multiple shots were given to emphasize it.
I hope the next movie I see is not a bad movie.
