SingStreet

This movie is arguably the only movie I can watch more than once. One of the happiest things in 2020 is the release of "SingStreet" in China. I bought a ticket and rushed into the cinema on the first day of its release. It can be said that the moment I found out that the film would be released in China, I I cried.

When returning to this movie, I have to say that director John Carney is arguably one of my favorite directors. His three music trilogy, including the American drama "Modern Love" that aired before, are particularly impressive. In me, I can say that every one of them, whether it is music or plot, is my favorite.

The film SingStreet takes place in Ireland in the 8090s. In that retro era, I was deeply attracted by the color of the film. The whole story has flat and ups and downs. One of the songs in the film is "Up", a song that I still like very much. This song is also a song I listen to when I am unhappy. He can give me strength and give me a sense of It's a very strong feeling that both the lyrics and the melody can inspire me and soothe my emotions. In addition to this song, the other soundtracks in this movie are also very good. For example, the melody of "Drive it like you stole it" is very retro and the lyrics are indeed very surging. I won't praise the song too much. If If the full score is 100 points, I can score 100000000+.

It can be said that this film is very youthful, ideal and passionate. It can indeed inspire others. It is not only limited to the part of love. I think it is more about ideals and the realization of ideals. Young people want to have dreams. Go to action!

Finally I love SingStreet! Looking forward to Season 2 of Modern Love! ! ! ! ! ! Ah ah ah! ! ! !

About art, about love, about traveling around the world, I have seen it in the movie, and it is a satisfying book. Has successfully fallen into the brain of John Carney!

As a work of the period, this director is very thoughtful, but unfortunately he couldn't hold back halfway through the film and missed a lot of good opportunities. There is a better way to deal with it at the end, and a good coming of age story goes straight to the norm. I like the imaginary dance scene the most in the whole film, it is very romantic.

Sing Street quotes

  • Eamon: So how do you mean you're "happy-sad"?

Darren: Yeah, how're we supposed to market that?

Conor: It means we're not pop anymore.

Eamon: We were pop? Listen, I'm happy being anything. I just want to play music.

Conor: That's fine. Be who you are, Eamon.

    Eamon: Well, I don't know who I am. Maybe I'm happy-sad, too. I don't know.

  • Darren: What does "happy-sad" even mean? How can we be both things? It makes no sense.

Conor: It means that I'm stuck in this shithole full of morons and rapists and bullies, and I'm gonna deal with it, okay? It's just how life is. I'm gonna try and accept it and get on with it, and make some art.

Eamon: So how does that affect our music?

    Conor: Positively.
