It is one thing in the end, calm and relaxed

Aging is always a part of life that cannot be ignored. The glimpse of light under the sensual dog and horse, in the twilight years, it seems not to be mentioned. Sorrentino broke away from the magnificent city of Rome in "A Beautiful City" and settled in a quiet Alpine resort hotel to explore life, past, future, sex, and loneliness. Sorrentino conveyed a broader philosophical thinking with a "Young and Vigorous", and used his craftsmanship to pile up surprising images to relieve the countless memories of the past.

Each of the main characters in the film is more or less shackled by certain things, nostalgia for his demented wife, loyalty to emotional sustenance, persistence in self-doubt, and even bondage to the failure of love. Fortunately, all the characters came out of the gray haze at the end of the film. This is exactly the combination of the themes that the director wants to convey. When he is young and vigorous, he still needs some desperate exploration of the future. In the film, I borrowed Mick’s mouth to say such a line: "everything seems really close, that's the future. And now everything seems really far away, that's the past." This is the most important theme that the director wants to convey from it.

Everyone in life is lost in the uncertainty of the future, and many people look back at the happy life of the past after experiencing unsatisfactory life. In the process of sorrow and joy, one can always search for self-worth from the most basic contradictions of survival, whether it is a difficult life or a happy life. For people in their twilight years, the past memories are vague, and that share of youth The impulse and ignorance stimulated by hormones will fade away over time. Mick and Fred’s friends for decades have gathered under the grass and white clouds of the Alps. Because a girl is bickering and joking. Isn’t the happiest thing in life like this, not thinking about all the troubles, and enjoying life now?

Unsatisfactory life often makes people unable to avoid doubts about self-worth, and the existential values in my heart magnify cowardly emotions infinitely. Realizing that emotions are not controlled, will everyone choose to end like Mick? Obviously not, Sorrentino did not over-exaggerate Mick's end, plain movements, fixed shots, it is not difficult to see the director's disdain and indifference from the photography. No matter how bad your life is, what you need is not only to reflect on yourself, but more importantly, to have the most correct plan for the future within reach. Even as Mick said: "Emotion is everything", the shaky feeling under the impact of emotion will not always rain and wind. Mick chose fear, and Fred chose hope. The film director didn’t tell us too much about the right and wrong, but at the end of the film, Mick built a telescope and looked at the camera. Has he discovered the future? Is it really close?

Sorrentino uses Italian-style humor to tell stories, and uses a unique aesthetic to master the style of the film. In addition, the entire film highlights the unique charm of the author's film. The characters in the film can tell a lot, and the director’s characterization of the characters tends to be perfect, and the narrative rhythm is much better than the previous "Beautiful City", but in general, the film is not atmospheric, although it is descriptive. The performance is very calm, but it is unable to dig out the role of sex in strengthening the core of the film's overall narrative. Although the overall look and feel of the film is comfortable, it is this comfort that makes the film too dull and fails to highlight the unique perspective and story touch of the film. Of course, the film's photography can still be used as a benchmark, and the poetic aesthetics also makes Sorrentino and Malick very similar. The originality of the story and the finishing touch of a few lines, the whole film also shows the director's confidence in the text of the film.

Probably if it's really in the dying year, everything will no longer be a matter.
