Dead Silence movie review
These two days have nothing to do, watching a few American horror movies. One of the most amazing is "Dead Silence" directed by Wen Ziren in 2007. The film was so good that I wrote a review for it. The plot of the film is simple and clear, yet full of suspense. At the beginning of the film, the male protagonist and his girlfriend received an unsigned puppet doll Billy. Later that night, his girlfriend was killed by the puppet. The male protagonist discovered that the address on the puppet box was the town where he lived when he was a child. So after returning to the town, after a series of events, I learned about the horror plan of a ventriloquist performer, Mary Shaw, but it was not until the last minute of the film that all Mary Shaw's plans were fully revealed and all the puzzles were solved. It made people feel unfulfilled after reading it, and applauded loudly. Director Wen Ziren's logic is very strong, the film is very compact, and there is no superfluous fragment for an hour and a half, which makes people sleepy in the plot. The film starts with a puzzle, and then uncovers the topic bit by bit. The suspenseful element makes me applaud. As an excellent horror film, the whole film is covered by a gloomy feeling. The human-shaped puppets in the movie are shocking (anyway, if I find that someone has sent me a puppet, I will throw it in the trash as soon as possible, or I will keep it in bed and hold it?). The most terrifying episode is when the male protagonist's father, a living adult, is turned into a marionette. This kind of anti-human operation is even a little nauseating. The camera is also very good. Several of the shots are on the puppet's face. Watching the puppet's eyes slowly look at you, it really makes your back chill. In terms of characters, the male lead is the most daring I have ever seen. No matter how the ghost frightened him, he didn't scream (the way to kill a ghost is to make it scream, whichever is the tongue.) But at the end of the film, the male protagonist's psychological defense line collapsed, screaming in despair, and was also made into a puppet. The villain is fierce enough, and the characters in the show are almost killed. Overall, the script of "Dead Silence" has high integrity and excellent horror effect. The most valuable is the perfect fusion of horror and suspense.
