A suspenseful story about murder by a knife.

In the positive sequence: a gangster who runs a hotel, because his mistress witnessed his murder scene, and used this to extort, he found someone to get rid of her, this person is Cobb in the film. In order not to be charged with murder, Cobb needed to design a clever game. At this time, Bill, a down-and-out writer who likes to stalk people, came into his field of vision, and he got close to it, letting him step into the game he designed step by step, including burglary, encountering and dating the big brother's mistress, etc. Make yourself a scapegoat. At the same time, Cobb also pretended to have an affair with the big brother's mistress. After winning her favor, he deceived her and was framed. He needed to find someone to replace and clear his murder charge. This person was Bill. Cobb used the help of the gangster's mistress to design a bureau to frame Bill. When poor Bill turned himself in to the police for burglary and accidental injury, he innocently carried the charge of killing the gangster's mistress.

This is Nolan's first feature-length film, and he tells the audience that a non-linear narrative method can better tell a story, especially a suspenseful one.

Nolan cut the story he wanted to tell into several pieces, shuffled the order and showed it to us. Such a non-linear narrative method is more able to whet the audience's appetite, especially the suspenseful elements in it, reaching the climax of the whole film at the moment when the final mystery is revealed.

Personally, I think such a climax can transform many small climaxes in the linear narrative method into suspense points, and the true face of the story is not revealed until the last moment, reaching the biggest climax, which makes people addicted.
