The plot is very good, and what's so lovely about this type of film is that it's a very thought-provoking, "you're probably going to have these things in your life, it could be happening around you" kind of feeling. That's why it gave me more darkness and depression than "Demihuman".
As for the two stars removed, one is because the family of three is too weak, as if the chickens are being played in the palm of their hands. Since it is an American movie, shouldn't they be more aware of safety? Especially when he finally had a chance to escape, he was still lingering there; the villain (for the moment) was too strong, just like the big villain Sato in "Asian", the entire Japanese army could not stop him. But I think it's very surreal, even if it's a work like a movie, it's based on fiction, but it shouldn't deviate from real life in this way. I don't know if this is a problem with the plot setting or the tension of the actors themselves...
Another star is because of the setting of this ending. In the end, it's just an endless loop, that's all. In the movie, there are a lot of details and some situations that can make you feel the final direction of the movie, it should not be like this. It's not that all three members of the family escaped, and the police were called to arrest them, but at least it shouldn't be just such a very conventional family of three who were all killed. It's not that it's not good that the ending is an infinite loop. I have seen some movies about the infinite loop before, but it's basically the same. Telling you still not, this feeling is very reversal, very shocking. But this movie, after seeing half of it, seems to imply that everything is unknown and there is hope for you (not necessarily that a family of three escaped, but at least it feels like there will be a very different ending) , but it ended up being pretty mundane (for this movie), an endless loop.
Overall, the subject matter of this movie is very good, and the general plot is also very attractive, but the specific content feels relatively bad.
