Jake Gyllenhaal is the actor I have always liked, "Brokeback Mountain", "Source Code", "The Day After Tomorrow", "Prisoner" and so on, each of them is very impressive, every role All are well drawn. The film is no exception, as Jake's Davis is a successful man with an enviable job and family. But suddenly one day, a catastrophe happened, and the wife died, and the established trajectory of life changed.
It can be said that Davis lived a so-called heartless life after his wife's death. And this series of broken heartless just fits the English name of the movie - demolition, the "destruction" of the past life, in order to meet the new life. It is worth mentioning that this is essentially in line with the "destruction to rebuild" said by the bomber in "Source Code".
It was in the process of destroying his previous life that Davis gradually discovered the bits and pieces of his past with his deceased wife, and also found that he once had love with his deceased wife, but he did not protect this love well. In memory of his deceased wife, the carousel on the seaside was repaired and started to run forward hard.
Although there is no picture of the male and female protagonists together in the ps video, in the end, the little boy told Davis that his mother had broken up with her boss. Maybe they will be together.
In the film, the little boy plays the drums, and the part where Davis dances is a big hit.

  • Davis: You must be Chris.

    Chris: You fucking my mom?

Davis: No, I'm not. We were just sleeping...

Chris: [interrupts] She's fucking crazy. If you haven't noticed, she's a fucking pothead. She calls it cannabis 'cause it makes her feel like less of a fucking pothead.

Davis: You say fuck a lot.

    Chris: So?

Davis: So you're just not using it properly.

Chris: The fuck does that mean?

Davis: That's what I mean. Fuck is a great word, but if you use it too much then it just loses its value and you sound stupid.

    Chris: Fuck you.

Davis: Exactly. I feel nothing and you sound like an idiot. Have a good one.
