On the Gap between Chinese and American Culture

I saw the third season in one breath, because as a suspense film, the plot was ups and downs and confusing; the tortuous encounters of the characters' fate in the play; the unknown plot development and changes; it attracted my attention and made me hooked. But after reading it, I kept reflecting on what we would do, how to think, and how to treat if we encountered such a problem. This involves the differences between Chinese and Western cultures.
In fact, watching TV itself is entertainment, so why go online? But once a person gets used to doing something, the brain gets used to a certain operation, as if a person is a machine, and everything is said as if the brain has input a certain programming, we will immediately execute it. The brain is not open from time to time. Back to the topic, why should I write such a big topic, because I deeply understand the difference between us. Every day the story happens, everyone is facing the problem of life and death, and every day is challenging the limit. Their approach and attitude towards everything will impress me deeply.
The story takes place in an unannounced afternoon. The transparent object falling from the sky isolates all communications from the outside. People inside cannot get out and people outside cannot get in. At first they didn't know what happened to them. When they knew this was called dome, they became restless. What is this, how did it come, can they go out? The facts show that they can only wait and die. At this time, a person who admired power saw the opportunity. He enlisted those who believed in him and eliminated those who had opinions on him. No one questioned him because he was a councillor and he kept saying that he wanted to protect the town. But not all people surrendered to his lewdness. There is a journalist who dares to investigate and is full of curiosity-Julia, a protector with a sense of justice-Babilla, and the four young guardians of the dome. They are just and brave. They dare to challenge authority, dare to face difficulties, they are full of power, fearless, but respect others, even if those people cause great harm to them, they still choose to forgive.
If it were us, would we be like them, helping each other, willing to share the only food, willing to believe that things will always be resolved, as long as everyone is united. Willing to take responsibility and maintain law and order and peace. I am very confused, at least I did not expect that I would do this. Maybe we will only help those we know, even if we help, we might get a bite back, and no one wants to cause trouble. Maybe we only think about ourselves, why I want to help you, you are not doing me any good, why give you food, you were not friendly to us before, etc. This may be the narrowness and selfishness of the Chinese people, We have lived in such an environment for a long, long time, and we are deeply rooted. We are not aware of our own problems, as if it is a matter of course. But when you see what other people are doing, you know how embarrassing you are.
During the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom period, the American missionary Midi Le came to China. He saw all kinds of incredible suffering, and then made a diagnosis: What China needs is not modern technology, but basic civilization. The so-called basic civilization refers to the spirit of contract, the awareness of rights, and the understanding of democratic politics and individual freedom. These things are now called universal values, which means that everyone should understand, unless you are still a barbarian.
I love my country, but I fear my government. The U.S. Constitution is the prerequisite of constitutional government. The principles of legislation are: equality of all, separation of powers, and federal system. The principle followed is to improve and protect human rights. China, on the other hand, controls the people's thinking, safeguards ideology, and one-party dictatorship. The establishment and revision of the law is to serve politics and ideology, and even to express the subjective consciousness of politically powerful figures and to express the authority they deserve. In the United States, newly enrolled students in their first lesson learned is that "human rights are more important than sovereignty, patriotism is more liberal than the actual law is more reliable than the president, the people's livelihood more realistic than politics, education can make people see hope,"
the United States The source of strength and success is to respect the value, dignity, potential and freedom of every citizen. Maybe we can find some of their codes of conduct for my use.
(1) Sense of self-worth, cultivate positive thinking and judgment when encountering problems, and strive to solve them
by yourself. (2) The ability to bear setbacks, inspire the courage and confidence to contend with the strong, and cultivate the consciousness of constant self-improvement
(3) Interpersonal skills, responsible for their actions and choices.
(4) Be unconditional and confident, even when you make mistakes
(5) Dare to try and dare to lose face
(6) Facing the excellence of others, praise from the heart
(7) The highest state of being a person is not blindly low-key, nor blindly publicity. But not humble or overbearing

  • James 'Big Jim' Rennie: [Opening Narration, Season 3] Four weeks ago, an invisible dome crashed down on Chester's Mill, cutting us off from the rest of the world. The dome has tested our limits, forcing each of us to confront our own personal demons... rage... grief... fear. Now, in order to survive, we must battle our most dangerous adversary... the enemy within.
