Give this 4 stars, because I personally think its plot is very natural. Even if Hoffman basically masters the overall situation later, there is no unexpected "justice" to stop Hoffman. The ending, though unexpected as always, is still flawed. Throughout the seven films, Jinsaw has 3 apprentices (except his wife), and finally Hoffman became a murderer, but it was the first doctor who punished him. How can a doctor really become his apprentice? After reading the first part carefully and analyzing the doctor's psychology, we know that the doctor still just wanted to escape in the end, and didn't really get inspiration from this game. Why did the doctor finally become Jinsaw's most successful heir? Then watched the video and helped John kill Hoffman. I just feel like this doesn't make sense. Because the previous female apprentices Adam and Hoffman were indeed inspired to become John's assistants.
