Well, the following video you will love!

Don't be fooled by the bloody poster, just like my previous judgment on the film (mistakenly thought it would be a BT, holding a chainsaw in his hand to destroy the harmonious society of the old beauty... far away)

In fact, there is no chainsaw at all in this film, but there are two hand saws. . .

Alright, let's get down to business!

First ask the officer a question (as asked on the previous poster): How much blood are you willing to give to survive? ! Are you still not sure? OK, the video gives you a reference...

(The following part will involve some plot, but it will never affect your first viewing of the film):

Adam (played by an unemployed youth) suddenly woke up and found that he was handcuffed with one foot in an abandoned bathroom... [The film made me enter the role at the beginning, no transition, no prelude, direct and shocking! ]

It was pitch black, calling for help, and all that was left was calling for help, in vain, desperate. Suddenly, a middle-aged man's voice came: Stop struggling, you and I have nowhere to go...

The lights turned on instantly, and there was another man in handcuffs on the opposite side of Adam: Lawrence (light blue shirt, as if he was in the middle class) The camera jumped and stretched, it turned out that the two were at the two ends of the bathroom, facing each other A dead body is lying on the floor! The corpse's right hand was very close to Adam, and there was a tape recorder in his hand. The left hand was very close to Lawrence and was a pistol. The head of the corpse bloomed, and the blood splattered all over the place.

[Why are they stuck here? Why are there dead bodies? Where is the way out? Who is in control behind the scenes? A series of questions in my mind came back and forth, and my heartbeat has been synchronized with the client...]

Adam found a tape in his trouser pocket, and Lawrence found a tape, a bullet, and a key. But the key does not open the lock on their feet. Adam took the tape recorder and listened to the tape, a deep voice demanded that Lawrence kill Adam within 8 hours, or both of them would die, including Lawrence's family (this is a threat message later found in Lawrence's wallet...)

Apparently, the same situation has brought two poor people together, and conscience tells Lawrence that it is not right to kill Adam to get his own life. They must find other ways to escape from this room of fear . . .

At this time, with the calmness of the two, the trapped details are slowly recalled...

Well, about the description of the film itself, I will stop writing here, because it can only be understood and cannot be talked about! The following is to talk about some after watching, friends who have seen the film can ponder:

1. Director's Impression ( James Wan)

First of all, I didn't know or remember, but after reading some materials, I realized that this is his debut! Thumbs up in admiration!

Quoting a passage: Director James Wing believes that the most successful part of his debut is: "The setting of the plot can cause the audience to imagine what would happen if they were in the character's situation. This unknown element will arouse the audience's Watching interest, you don't know where you are, what's going to happen, everything is out of control, that's the scariest thing."

Indeed, this film should be regarded as a breakthrough. Compared with traditional suspense horror films, he will mobilize the audience's interaction and participation; inner fear + ruthless ridicule reveal of human nature => the audience's own inner torture => from the bottom of the heart the chill!

2. Narrative (Memento + Se7en + Identity)

When I was in school, I felt that the flashback of Memento ( memory fragments ) was the most "cool" (sorry, there are no other words to describe it). The flashback is so natural, so ingenious, and the combination with the main narrative is also perfect. seamless. And "SAW" also uses flashbacks to narrate the time and space of the police, "criminals" and the protagonist in a reincarnation style, making the plot more compact and pressing step by step!

Similar to Se7en , police, "criminals" battle wits and courage, scene -> clues -> reasoning -> verification. . . It's just that the parties (victims) themselves are also participating in the reasoning this time, and the sense of presence increases sharply!

Similar to Identity (deadly ID) is that the characters seem to be unrelated in daily life, but they are so similar under a specific condition! When the mystery is revealed, is it the person in the play or himself who is being tortured? That's exactly what I wrote in the title: Cruel Human Torture

3. Choose

There will be many choices in life, school, profession, job, lover...

But in the face of life and death, what is your choice? Live or die? Really redundant to ask, but what if additional conditions are attached? What if you die and I live? The selfishness and ugliness of human beings disintegrated at this moment, maybe only BT can come up with such a soul-shaking theme~~ But, this film did it!

4. The end

We, who are used to watching horror movies, have long been used to the unexpected final shocks such as alien resurrection, Godzilla leftover eggs, ghost baby giving birth, etc. However, please rest assured that the ending of this film is as unexpected as it is In "The Sixth Sense", I can't bear to redeem the director's good intentions here, and please watch the most elaborate (shocking) moment for yourself!

5. Flaws

What more can we expect from young directors who are just starting out? !

However, I still want to mention some shortcomings in my opinion:

a. The background of the victims in the other two cases should be described in more detail to help the audience understand the ending.

b. Although the ending is unexpected and logically understandable, it still lacks a strong foreshadowing, and the trump card is a little hasty.

c. What is the function of the fluorescent thing at the beginning, I haven't seen it yet, so I will point it out here.

d. The plot was so tight that I forgot to eat fruit and my girlfriend was afraid to go to the toilet, so let's take a look at B4 here... Haha

Saw: The Final Chapter quotes

  • Dr. Gordon: Bravo! To be able to sustain such a traumatic experience and, uh... and yet find a positive in that grizzly act. It's a remarkable feat, indeed. Remarkable... if not a little perverse.

  • Gibson: [talking to Jill] It's a safe house Jill! Safe. House.

    [Walks out of the room]

Secretary: We just got this. Hoffman knows she's here.

    Gibson: Goddamnit!
