Some things in memory related to "Boys Don't Cry"

This is a movie I've been wanting to watch for a long time.

The first time I heard about this movie was when I was in college. At that time, the subsequent Oscar-winning film "Million Baby" was being released.

Watching "Million Baby" in an Internet cafe, I felt very inspirational, and I have a deep memory of the actress who played the heroine.

Later, I read magazines in the school reading room and paid attention to the detailed introduction of the heroine. Said she had acted in the lesbian movie "Boys Don't Cry".

At that time, I was curious about lesbians and wanted to see how she acted. I looked for it at the time, but I didn't find it.

Later, when I looked at the Internet and discussed the topic of homosexuality, I would bring up this movie and say it, as if it meant that normal people can be induced by homosexuality.

At that time, so-and-so in our class reported that he was gay, but we didn't believe it. We felt that he was pretending to attract attention.

Once, he came to our dormitory and said his sexuality. I said there is this movie about gay things. He said, you still know a lot, and the look in my eyes is a bit wrong. I was very flustered, afraid that he would entangle me, and then deliberately kept a distance.

Later, I heard that he helped his roommate with furnace pipes, and he did not shy away from others talking about it. Others are ugly, talkative, unattractive but not annoying either. Graduated to the Construction Corps. No more news.

Later, when I graduated and worked, I slipped my number during work hours, went to the Internet cafe next to my work unit to kill time, and watched "The Devil" by some ghosts.

The little girl who played the second female star looked like some kind of weak animal, which I couldn't forget for a long time.

Surprisingly, the one who played the female first was the guest performer at the opening of the World Cup in South Africa. Remember the name, Sloan.

Later in "Mad Max", she played the capable and brave heroine. It's memorable.

Looking back now, it was actually two actors, but when I was growing up, their images were so intertwined that it was almost indistinguishable.

  • Brandon: Lana, you are one cranky girl.

Lana: Yeah, well, you'd be cranky, too, Mister I'm Going To Memphis Graceland Tennessee, if you were stuck in a town where there's nothing to do but go bumper skiing and chase bats every night of your evil fucking life.

  • Lana: God, I hate my life.

Lana's Mom: [drunk on the sofa] Lana?

Brandon: I hate your life, too.
