First of all, I don't have a very rich knowledge reserve, let alone strong writing skills, which are enough to support me to complete this article. Or it can be said that it is not an article, I just regard it as a record of my current feelings.
As an ordinary person, I don't have a lot of professional knowledge about movies or music. I just want to record one of my most real feelings after watching the movie.
After watching several of Lao Jia's films, I found that he is really a very interesting person. His uniqueness makes him seem so out of place, but the works he shoots are so simple and approachable. And then I found out that I seemed to be in love with Lao Jia, all his movies, all his soundtracks.
Anyway, back to this "Only Lovers Left Alive", there are several scenes in the film, and I am hopelessly in love.
1. Funnel of love at the beginning
To be honest, I really love this rotating lens, especially when Lao Jia is combined with the rotating vinyl record, completely oriented sniper! The fit between the picture and the soundtrack is super high. EVE spins in the stack of books, Adam spins with his beloved piano, and the lyrics of the soundtrack sink deep into the funnel of love. I think this is a metaphor for a deep love story between a cool girl who loves reading and a cool rock man who loves music. It's not that their hobbies are so unique. They like to be surrounded by books and pianos even after falling asleep. I am afraid that only a few people can do it.
Small details, the male and female protagonists looked out the window after waking up, as if they were looking for something. I wondered if the same person who appeared in the dream before waking up was the one they all mentioned, Eve's sister Eva. Of course this is just my guess.
2. Ceremony full of eating
I have to say, the scene where the three people eat at different places is really beautiful! Small details, Eve and Adam touched the bracelet on their hands and the necklace hanging on their chests before eating. Maybe is a token of love or some kind of jewelry with induction magic, even if the world is different, I will definitely think of you on such an important occasion.
There is a sentence in the barrage that says that when vampires drink blood, it is as important as human food, but it is as pleasant as drug addiction. To be honest, if it's really that cool, I'd rather be envious of vampires. At least we have a short-lived pleasure after enjoying extremely delicious food! But every time they eat, it is a kind of enjoyment.
3. A romantic meeting at the door
Eve came downstairs to Adam, and every move revealed love and tenderness, enviable kisses and hugs. For the love between the two, Lao Jia did not spend a lot of space to create some major events to reflect the depth of their relationship. Instead, I focus on photographing the ordinary life of the two of them. I love this way of getting along and yearn for this way of getting along. I think the two of them understand each other, and the love for each other can be seen in the gesture of romance.
Sometimes soul-fit relationships are more charming.
4. Blood cake?
Turning blood into ice cream form, I see it as a little fun that Eve creates in life. I like this kind of little fun, and when I'm still indulging in the occasional novelty to add to the romance of a peaceful life, the camera jumps to can't hardly stand it. I've always loved soundtracks in movies, I think they add warmth to the movie, and this one is.
Suddenly the music stopped, and when the two went to check the power grid, they found an anachronistic fungus-fly garrack.
At first, I didn't quite understand what Lao Jia used to design this passage here, and at the same time it reminded me of another outdated thing, the wild grapefruit in "The Last Night on Earth".
I'm waiting for the follow-up plot to give me an explanation, but it doesn't seem to be. Then I slowly guessed by myself whether this mushroom would imply that inappropriate people are coming, such as this sister who will cause trouble; inappropriate things are about to happen, such as Eva sucking Adam's best friend; An inappropriate idea has arisen. A vampire with an undead body actually thought of making wooden bullets to end his own life.
5. Dance
My favorite dance sequence is the jiggle dance from You can never tell in Pulp Fiction, it's really unforgettable. I admit that, in my mind, this section of "Only Love Forever" is far less exciting than "Pulp Fiction", but it also holds a higher status in my mind.
This episode comes after Eve's conversation after discovering Adam was having suicidal thoughts. I thought, maybe they didn't love each other as much as I imagined. If they were so in love, how could they be willing to leave the other to die. But when Eve turned the gun on himself, Adam hurriedly took the gun away, fearing Eve would get hurt. There is no doubt that it is true love, but this pursuit of the spiritual world is also an idea. I think it may be because there are people who are particularly concerned about, so even though I was already lonely and uncomfortable, I didn't have the heart to press the gun when I just got the bullet and pointed it at my heart.
“This self-obsession, is a waste of living! It could be spent on surviving things. Appreciating nature, nurturing kindness, and friendship, and dancing!”
6. A gift for you
"Give me all your money, baby!" The two people who were about to starve to death probably wanted to use the money to buy some blood. Later, after watching a performance, when Eve handed the piano to Adam, I thought it was too far. Sure enough, great hunger overcomes little hunger, and it is true love.
I find this part of Jasmine's performance a bit abrupt, although it's to draw out what Adam said, he doesn't want Jasmine to be famous, she deserves better. In fact, this also corresponds to the first part of the film. Eve asked him, what about the heroes in your mind? Adam thinks that "zombies" don't deserve all this, and the people he thought were heroes before were also misunderstood by "zombies" because of their fame, so he didn't want Jasmine to follow the same path and have the same results.
Of course, I do not rule out that the death of the child also had a certain impact on Adam.
Want to talk about the word "zombie". The zombies in the film are actually humans. Adam says he hates these zombies because they have no imagination. I think I can probably understand. Usually a person with ideas and creativity is always disdain to communicate with other ordinary people, because other people can't understand his ideas, can't feel the same. That's why so many geniuses finally fell, and they chose to end their own lives.
This has strengthened my quest for a soul-compatible love partner. If not, it's okay to be single for the rest of your life.
Think of another movie, "Burning". Little hunger or great hunger? How can a person be so simple, as long as the stomach sends you a hunger signal, you can solve the hunger by devouring it for a while, then how to solve the poverty of the spiritual world, and how to fill the inner needs?
7. "Quantum entanglement" and Einstein's "spooky action at a distance"
This theory is mentioned twice in the film: the first time was when Eve met Adam, Adam asked her if she wanted to hear it, Eve said, but not now; the second time was at the end, Eve offered to let Adam talk about it. two theories.

I am seriously thinking about how to understand this theory.
Go back to the middle of the film first, after Eva sucked Adam's friends clean, the anger of Eve and Adam made me think they are vampires with their own principles, they do not suck human blood. But the end of the film gave me a big twist. The starving couple attacked a pair of lovers with fresh blood flowing.
"We are going to turn them, right?"
“How romantic of you.”
At first, I thought that if two people who truly love each other, even on opposite ends of the universe, will love each other deeply. So, it doesn't matter if you don't turn them into vampires, right?
But later, after I watched the ending a few times, I completely changed my mind. I was still too young.
Two people who agree with each other and love each other deeply, if one person changes his mind, the other will make the exact same change. It's true that neither of us were willing to smoke humans before, because we didn't want to be the savages of the 15th century. But what if one of the two of us changed his mind? Never mind. Then let's smoke happily together, after all, we are still vampires!
In the end, Lao Jia made the vampires with the second label printed on them as literary artists with unique charm, which all showed his skill. Of course, there are still a lot of allusions in the movie that I don't understand. After all, it contains too much knowledge. If you want to really figure it out, you still need to consult a lot of information, at least for me. So I reluctantly deducted one star. I think if one day I have learned enough knowledge, after rewatching this movie, and after I understand it more thoroughly, I will change it to full stars!
