The title of "Dead Man Down" plus the handsome guy Colin Farrell as the leading actor, thought it was a rather intense action film, I didn't expect this revenge film to be so peaceful. Victor, the protagonist played by Colin, hides in the gang in order to avenge his murdered wife and daughter, but his neighbor Beatrice sees him murder. Victor and Beatrice slowly developed a subtle feeling between the two, which made Victor forget the hatred... Not so much an action film, I feel that it is more like a romance film, with revenge as the background. Romance, or revenge vs. love. In fact, the heroes and heroines don't have much rivalry or dialogue, but from their eyes, expressions and movements, they can really feel that the two injured hearts are slowly approaching, and they have to praise their acting skills.
The whole movie has a very complete story. The character of each character is portrayed. The only regret is that the movie lacks a little spark of emotional collision. Although the subtle love is well outlined, the strong hatred that the actor should have, and the entanglement of the actor's feelings of revenge and love have not been fully expressed, which makes the whole movie feel a little flat and makes me entangled in Should I give 3 stars or 4 stars?
The scars in people's hearts will not be healed because of revenge. Only by finding new hope can they have the motivation to continue living. I feel that the movie is to express this theme. Although the movie is a bit boring, I like its theme.
