audience can interpret the character Sabina from multiple angles, too much has happened to her!
She had a crush on David for many years, and later changed her love after spending a few days with Linus. The speed shocked her herself. From this perspective, Sabina has the potential of a green tea table.
But she is also a victim, and the family has partnered to deceive relationships, and she is deeply caught in it without knowing it. The audience is easily moved by the image of Sabina's unscheming and innocent girl, which is also the most consistent and most revealing aspect of Hepburn's image.
Looking deeper, Sabina has always insisted on her feelings, ignoring all class identities, and has the consciousness of resisting authority. Regardless of whether the directors consciously or not, she has the shadow of the independent thinking of early feminists.
So, although Hepburn played Sabina as a pure and even stupid character, not as bright as a feminist pioneer, at least at the very least, she did not act as a green tea watch.
(In other words, quite satisfactory, at least not annoying the audience)
