I have watched this film four times, and every time I encounter something unhappy, I take it out and watch it. Forcing yourself to look directly at the truth, and realizing that encountering those unhappy things is nothing compared to the way of life.
I am a pessimist. What I saw while watching this movie was the indifference of others. I can still recall when George's daughter asked her father why she didn't tell her that her mother was very ill, and George's response to your concern meant nothing to me. As if to say that none of you can understand how I feel, and that you will only ask about it symbolically.
