Bland Searching for a Son

Originally thought it was a story of finding my son after twists and turns.
I originally thought it was a big reveal of the shady story, but I didn't expect it to be tepid, and a few questions were taken carelessly.
Maybe this is the British flavor, no tension, no conflict, calm and peaceful.
In such a situation, people should think about what is sin and what is good: in the eyes of nuns, sex is sin, but selling babies is okay; in the eyes of philomena, sex is beautiful, but not knowing the way of forgiveness is sin; in the eyes of ordinary people, same-sex love is Sin, but on the side of philomena's AIDS-infected son - true love is male and female.

Philomena quotes

Philomena: Well... perhaps he played the harp. He *was* gay.

Martin Sixsmith: He didn't play the harp.

  • Martin Sixsmith: Phil, how did you know he was gay?

Philomena: Well he was a very sensitive little boy, and as the years rolled on, I always wondered if he might be. But when I saw the photograph of him in the Dungarees

    [chuckles]

Philomena: there was no doubt in my mind.
