These mercenary guys are actually fragile and emotional inside. Beneath their funny jokes, there is a loneliness that they don't want to talk about.
Everyone has an unknown past, and it's a tacit understanding not to ask questions on the Bebop. These four people, one dog, and five lonely souls meet by chance in the vast universe; their relationship is a bit strange to describe as family, but they found a sense of belonging in this Bebop, and stubbornly used their own way to thank each other for their exist.
The five wandering souls in the world have no relatives and no home; only their heavy memories and their own stories are tied to them. They play aimlessly in the endless game known as life, and maybe they want to find meaning in it, maybe they've given up on it long ago, just thinking of it as a dream. What is life?
A man who "plays the dream of life". He said he had died once, after the woman left... From that day on, his left eye only saw the past, the past that was broadcast over and over again. Aside from his graceful and athletic skills and his calm demeanor, this man is a mystery, and he only knows that he once worked in a big gang organization. However, he seemed to take it easy as if he didn't care, as if his life didn't concern himself. He said he was alive that day just to make sure he was alive. Spike is like a bystander in life, his left eye looks at the past, and his right eye gazes at his life, like a dream life. life is but dream.
"The Black Dog once it bites never let go" is the nickname given to him by his former police colleagues. Prudent and steady, he is the owner of Bebop and his hobby is gardening. On rainy days, the prosthetic arm in his right arm throbbed and cried to him... He had an old, broken pocket watch in his pocket; sometimes Jet would light a cigarette and stare at it in a daze. When she woke up, the world was not what she remembered; there was no one she knew, no money, and hundreds of millions of debts. So she started to run away, to deceive, to become a bounty hunter, all for survival, in a universe where nobody cares and she is totally alone. Then, a short-haired little girl who was familiar with me said to her, I am not here anymore, but I will always cheer for you. Fumbling in the fragments of memory, Faye can't remember this little girl, but tears are rolling in her eyes...
She is a super A-level child, plus cartilage skills; he is eccentric, but she is just a Ordinary little girl... wait, boy? Living alone on an abandoned Earth, found the Bebop through the Internet. She is always cheerful and cheerful, it should be said that she has no nerves; what does the world look like in the eyes of her who is unique? He became a part of Bebop inexplicably during an accidental bounty hunting. He likes to have rough-looking men bathe him, he likes to go against the man with the shaggy hair, and that tough woman will snatch dog food from him! Of course, his favorite is going around with weird kids Adventure. Traveling with these peculiar people would be fun too! Maybe he thought so when he couldn't speak. But no one can deprive Ein of the happy memories of being on the Bebop. Who says animals have no emotions?
No matter how technology develops, no matter how vast our space becomes, the needs of the human heart remain the same. I think this is the message that Director Watanabe wants to convey.
Maybe the vastness of the universe just highlights the loneliness of the human heart!
