Return after "criminal"

The first time I came into contact with a Spanish film, it can be said that I watched the work "Return" with curiosity. When the tomb-sweeping scene at the beginning of the film and those unfamiliar voices came, I couldn't help but wonder, how to parse the name "Return"?
At first, the women who appeared one after another mistakenly thought that "returning" was returning to the family. The official appearance of "Return" is in the second half of the film. The protagonist sings the song called "Return" at the celebration banquet of the crew, which is a tune taught by his mother. Singing and singing, memories flooded into my heart, and the appearance of tears rolling around seemed to be the "return" of the protagonist's soul. Get rid of the unbearable memories of the past, get rid of the "sin" that hides the corpse, get rid of the disguise, and return to yourself for a short time, as pure as singing in the audition as a child.
In fact, "Return" has multiple illustrations, returning to the female world, returning to the hometown, returning to the spirit of independence, which is also the director's return. Almost all of the main characters appearing are women, women at the bottom of the city, women in the countryside, for various reasons, alone or betrayed by men. So it can be said that "Return" is a feminist film, and the director Almodovar is probably also a feminist.
The movie buried a lot of dark clues, but it was narrated in a comic way, and even the emotion of death and murder was weakened. These women, women living in the places where they live, have an unknown past, they have experienced suffering and torture, they are struggling, but they are also moving forward with their heads held high. Stand in the shoes of these women and describe the meaning of life.
Facing her husband's cheating, the grandmother set fire to her husband and lover after cheating. After experiencing the edge of life and death, wandering in the shadows, taking care of my sisters and missing my daughters. The movie blurs the timeline. This period may be more than ten years. This is how a woman with a strong heart can survive under such spiritual and life pressure. I personally think that my grandmother is the most powerful character in the whole movie, accompanying death time and time again, living coherently and exquisitely, which interprets the meaning of life is to live.
As for the protagonist, when she learned that her daughter faced her father's sexual assault and murder in self-defense, she panicked and made a decision, and her motherhood broke out without any doubts. Cleaning the corpse and handling the corpse is becoming more and more skilled, as if this dead man has nothing to do with her. Dealing with it so calmly is actually cleaning the wounds of memories. She and her daughter once suffered the same situation, suffered from it, and gave birth to a child. Such an incestuous relationship is outrageous. But at the time, she couldn't resist, and her daughter did something she couldn't do. Perhaps, she once had the same idea, and this time, she was inspired, not only to protect her daughter's motherhood, but also her subconscious revenge.
A family of three generations of women, the grandfather cheated until his death, the father's conspiracy against his daughter, and the cruelty of the brother-in-law abandoning his sister. In their lives, instead of supporting the economy and giving family happiness, men have become burdens or even destroyers. The film completely stands in the female perspective and depicts everything, as if to imply that men are animals with lower body thinking. The nature of sexual desire will drive men to take off their pants to others and their relatives, just for a moment of pleasure, without sufficient sense of responsibility and responsibility.
But is it really that scornful? In Buck, knowing that the protagonist's pregnant child is not his own flesh and blood, he still married her and moved to Madrid to start a new life. It is undeniable that Buck died of his own sexual desire, and if he hadn't vented this desire on his daughter and kept his unethical thoughts alive, he might still be alive. If the source of these tragedies is to be investigated, there is no doubt that it is the grandfather who was burned to death. If he hadn't sexually assaulted his daughter, he hadn't been cheating again and again, but a quiet, solid and reliable father, a happy family, although not happy. Of course, any accident happens in a single thought. Unforgivable sin was committed in a moment of loss of control.
After watching the movie, I can't help but feel that the director Almodovar stood out too much to highlight the strong resistance of women and lowered the image of men. At least in the real world, men bear more responsibilities. At the same time, the movie weakens the crime, leaving nothing to be done about the arson case, and for the homicide case, the person disappears without paying attention. In the real environment, such crimes are also unforgivable. Those men have touched morality, but women have violated the law.
Perhaps, this is also Almodovar's sustenance for the good fate of women, hoping that they can be freed from the misfortune in reality. In the future these women will have new lives, just like the crew member the protagonist met. In his eyes, he saw the growing love. If all this is buried, there may be sparks of love between them in the future.
Can it really be buried forever? Maybe, maybe not. I just hope these women are happy.
