people tend to just focus on his arrogance and record, I think the most amazing thing about him is his tragic Fate, not some tank battle. Son of a bitch war, Barton's memoir is described in this way. He is the elite of the generals, he and Rommel, Montgomery, MacArthur, Eisenhower on the stage of World War II competition, each leading the way. He is a romantic warrior living in the twentieth century. He was born for war, he loves war. The film describes Patton's character in a sophisticated manner, and it is worth watching.
