cruel life

This is an old movie. Button's life is destined to be tragic, although he has a lot of tanks and money,
people tend to just focus on his arrogance and record, I think the most amazing thing about him is his tragic Fate, not some tank battle. Son of a bitch war, Barton's memoir is described in this way. He is the elite of the generals, he and Rommel, Montgomery, MacArthur, Eisenhower on the stage of World War II competition, each leading the way. He is a romantic warrior living in the twentieth century. He was born for war, he loves war. The film describes Patton's character in a sophisticated manner, and it is worth watching.

I sometimes wonder, if Patton is not just commanding the Third Army in the European battlefield, but the commander of the entire European battlefield, will the time for the end of World War II be shortened? What if Roosevelt had appointed Patton to command the Pacific battlefield before his death? What will be the result? It's just that history cannot be assumed. Patton quotes

  • Patton: The Nazis are the enemy. Wade into them. Spill *their* blood. Shoot *them* in the belly. When you put your hand into a bunch of goo that a moment before was your best friend's face, you'll know what to do.

  • Capt. Oskar Steiger: [about Patton] The pure warrior... a magnificent anachronism. The absence of war will destroy him.
