Just for your gaze and smile

The story of the journey.

I have revisited this film after many years, and during this period, I have spared no effort to recommend it to many people. "Be sure to take a look", such words, in fact, can't clearly describe what I think about it in my heart.

Most people would define travel as one of their hobbies. But there is a big difference in what you think. Many people have dreams of traveling the world when they are young. Later, most of them are tired of life and become an unreachable idea, or they simply deny the idea that once existed, and instead become a self-deprecating joke.

I always feel that the world I see on my journey is infinite. In the city life, the rhythm is fixed, and the people I meet have the same thinking. The order constructed by civilization is not only the mode of urban architecture and life, but also the way of thinking and values of people. While enjoying all these comforts and conveniences, the mind is also imprisoned in a fixed pattern. I like to see the beautiful scenery, I am fascinated by the majestic snow-capped mountains, and moved by the vastness of the sea. The feeling on the road is a place where freedom is infinitely magnified, and there are no longer so many fetters.

Not many people really want to know what the world is like. The details revealed by science are the silent laws of how the world works. The mystery and strangeness of human thinking, but it is difficult to have a conclusion and a proper generalization of the law.

The survival law of nature is the survival of the fittest. The survival of the individual first brings about the desire and demand for material things. When human beings have civilization and emotions, they cultivate richer emotions and thoughts, and the world of the mind becomes a more complex place. However, limited material and individual differences have made human beings a weapon of confrontation. Selfishness, indifference, and greed hurt not only the compatriots who live together, but also the morality of the society.

It's hard to describe Guevara in a few words. The head portrait brought by Pop Art that has swept the world is a consolation or a joke. As an individual person, Guevara has more freedom than most people when traveling by motorcycle: family, career, love. However, that is a freedom that belongs to him alone and cannot be shared with others. Travels in South America showed him the groaning land and the suffering people. He was suffocated by the unfamiliar, indescribable suffering. What made these people lose their homes, what made the fields barren and the earth silent. Poor people are deprived of their liberty, people without health are not happy. It turns out that the world is not the illusion of prosperity built in the city. The civilization built at the expense of exploiting and bullying the weak is cruel and ruthless.

Ignorance is terrible, but it is sad to avoid it if there is awareness. Guevara turned the insights from the journey into the driving force for practice, and later embarked on the road of revolution. He is a freedom fighter, but has romantic feelings. Return liberties to those who deserve them, and use bullets and lives to rebuild justice and peace that has been destroyed.

People should have the nature to cherish life, because it only comes once. But when someone is willing to contribute to the hope of life for more people at this price, it becomes infinitely noble. It is very difficult for human beings to overcome the insatiable desire to work and the infinite pursuit of material things. So when a life like Guevara appeared, he became a kind of sustenance and pursuit.

What is the world like, how do other people live, these questions are answered one by one on the way, and what I feel during the journey is not only the freedom of the body, but also the liberation of the mind. You can observe the surroundings from a completely different perspective, experience a different life, but it is more real.

The black and white photos at the end of the film tell the stories that travel through time and space. Just for your gaze and smile, the world is still beautiful, please believe it.

Why do I miss a country I have never seen before, where there was a splendid civilization. I saw the light across the river. Young dreams of rugged roads gradually broadening horizons and mature will are very real, charming and inspiring. Gustavo Santaolalla is still clear, with Argentine blood flowing in his body. Machu Picchu Mountain is as majestic and magical as Neruda praised. The connection between history and present comes after experience.

  • Alberto Granado: We land on the Guajira Peninsula. The tip of a great continent. Bellies full of wine and two tropical beauties, hopefully sisters.

Ernesto Guevara de la Serna: That's good beer, huh?

  • Ernesto Guevara de la Serna: All you want is to get laid in every country in South America.

Alberto Granado: In every town too, if we're lucky. Adds a little spice.
