The original is a milestone, the movie is a monument, and the TV series is a tombstone.
The grand worldview of ideological conflict in the original book has turned into racial discrimination against black skins. The funny thing is that the theory of the yellow peril is still promoted at the end. It seems that only black people's lives are more expensive. What confuses me even more is how Rorschach, who never compromises in the face of lies, has become a totem of racism. Later, I was in awe, this is the American drama "Watchmen", so there must be a Rorschach. The original "Watchmen" was launched during the Cold War, and the drama version was launched at a time when the black-skinned political correctness was raging. It seems that the show's intention is to pay tribute to Mr. Alan, and it is right to keep up with current events.
Dr. Manhattan is not Joe, he is far from mortal and almost god. For him, time is not linear but a piece of cloth, and he can see every pattern on this cloth clearly. He knows the ultimate development direction of all things in the world - nothingness, so he is indifferent to everything. In "Dawn of Justice", Lex Luthor said: "If God is omnipotent, he cannot be perfect; if God is perfect, then he cannot be omnipotent." I think this sentence not only interprets Superman, it also interprets the role of Dr. Manhattan. But the dark-skinned Manhattan in the play is almost a god, not even a mortal with normal intelligence. When you fight, you want to leave the last one to catch yourself? In the original book, Dr. Manhattan does not change the normal development of things, and even tells the other party in advance what will happen next. But the more this is the case, the less the other party will believe and the more they will avoid things from happening. At this time, Alan Moore's wisdom is reflected, and he can always logically write the story according to the Manhattan prophecy. For example, the part where Dr. Manhattan and Jenny Yunyu quarreled after the quarrel, this part was also used in the play. Going back to "deliberately leaving the last one", there is nothing "sane" about this behavior, it's stupid like a movie villain who always has to give a long speech before the big battle, so that our protagonist hero can take the opportunity to find the villain Achilles heel. And this kind of stupid behavior was said by Alan through the mouth of the pharaoh 40 years ago: "Dan, I'm not the villain in the comics... The plan started 35 minutes ago. ."
Speaking of Pharaoh, the smartest man in the world was beaten in the head in the play and then arrested. The joke is that the reason for being hit in the head is because he talks too much, so he gave the second generation Silk Soul and her little valet a chance. This blow not only blinded this version of the pharaoh who also had doubts in his IQ, but also gave Alan Moore a blow to the head. Pulling the pharaoh to trial, the last utopia in the original book will collapse, which is equivalent to denying all the ideas of the original book, denying the efforts of the militia, and making Rorschach's death a nonsense joke.
Sure enough, the comedian saw it all.
postscript
In fact, Alan Moore refused to film any of his work. After Alan and DC parted ways, the latter, who holds the copyright, can not only modify the former's works as he wants, but the former does not even deserve the signature of the original author. I don't deny the quality of V for Vendetta and Watchmen, but this show -- like the Watchmen prequels -- is just using the residual value of the original.
