Difficult to consecrate gods, but also good enough

8.8/10 After watching the last episode, although I am somewhat dissatisfied with the ending, on the whole, the TV drama version of "watchmen" is still very good.

I positioned it as "excellent fan work". Lindelof made a reasonable interpretation and expansion of the original story, characters and ending. I believe that if he hadn't read the original work many times, he would not have been able to shoot it. Such a film with original charm. However, Lindelof is not Alan Moore after all, and all he can do is imitate the "shape" of the original work instead of the "god", but "watchmen" is a ceiling-level work in the United States and even the sci-fi world after all, but it can restore the original work One or two points of taste is enough to succeed.

I personally like the portrayal of the Ozymandias father and daughter in the play. I also think Werther is the character with the most charm in the original work. His arrogance, arrogance, and everything under control makes me a Werther fan very satisfied. I have to say that Uncle Tie's performance is really impressive. His vitality makes it hard to believe that this is a 71-year-old old man. The performance of the new character Zhao Yu is also impressive. Her proud and easy-going demeanor is so similar to her father, which is also due to the excellent performance of the actor.

Looking at the whole film, the biggest feeling to me is that it is "tidy". Whether it's the structure of individual episodes or the overall look, this drama makes me feel "interlocking", almost all the foreshadowings can be subtly rounded up, and even the posters and some episode titles give you the drama from the beginning To the end, every corner of the play is also full of hints and stalks that make people smile. As a fan of the original work, the viewing experience is very good.

As for the shortcomings, many people also gave their own ideas, a thousand readers have a thousand Hamlets. Everyone has their own interpretation of the original, and so does Lindelof. My opinion is that the ending of this work is still too conservative. The screenwriter chose a relatively "main theme" ending, rather than giving an ending full of moral justice and suspense like the original, which still makes me a little regretful .

I don't want this show to have a second season, because almost all the characters in it have already "finished their length", and it may not be a good choice to tell their stories, but if it is a derivative work under the same world view, it is still acceptable .
