At the end of the day, it's a story of Luther, a failed father, and it's the kind of shit that's trending right now. Well, rubbish movies are in vogue, "Manchester by the Sea" and even "Moonlight" count. The world is so traumatized that we need to heal? The story is really generic.
Denzel Washington's acting is still impeccable, but the black guy who sells the musical instrument is even better.
In the end, after the death of his father, the father and son finally reached a reconciliation, keeping the clouds open and seeing the future. This is a bit like another version of "Big Fish", but of course this story is more sad and helpless.
