I watched it on April 6, 2018. Although everyone's overall rating is not high, I still think the script's ideas and brain holes are still very big.
Since the biggest challenge for human beings is the mismatch between population and resources, then a good solution is indeed to shrink human beings themselves, just like the Norwegians in the movie who believed that the end of the world had come, they were unable to realize utopia underground, but This can be achieved after scaling down.
The movie itself might be better positioned is a good introduction. There are many questions behind it, such as: how to divide the labor between the reduced human and the original human, how to divide the vote, and how to ensure their respective powers? (And why did the shrunken human beings choose their life for their future children to be a shrunken life?) What system does the shrunken human security rely on to maintain? What will happen to the crowd that is thought to be a cult utopia? Wait, in fact, there is room for continuous play in the future. Maybe it will provide a source of ideas for many sci-fi movies in the future.
Among them, the part that I feel more emotional is: even after people themselves have been reduced, there is still a huge gap between the rich and the poor, which is the essence of human society. And one of the words of the male protagonist is also very sobering. Most people choose to shrink because they choose to retreat and enjoy themselves. This group of "little" people is likely to go to the end of mankind because of this.
Of course, Yu doesn't hide her flaws, this movie really wants to express a lot, so it doesn't make it clear, but it's true.
But I think I can give it four stars.
