However, when the singing and dancing scene appeared for the first time in the movie, I started to feel dizzy. Because I have to sing Disney-style lines, and the song-and-dance animation that has to be danced in the plot has almost reached the point of disgust. When the people in the square full of people in the film started dancing and singing in uniform movements, I almost decided it was a Disney thing. And when singing and dancing appeared again and again in the film, I almost felt a little broken.
I'm not denying that "The Story of Old Lacey" is a meaningful story, but what the movie ended up showing was way too far from my expectations. If it weren't for the beautiful forest in the film and the superb 3D technology, this film hardly made me want to watch it. "The Tale of Old Lacey" has all the elements of a good cartoon, but unfortunately, it also has a lot of the elements of a mediocre cartoon.
"The Story of Old Reis" is like a late-stage star on the football field. When faced with the siege of many bigwigs, he couldn't wait to show off his fancy fists and legs, but he forgot that breaking through and shooting was the right way. In this film, we can see the best simulation technology that represents computer animation, such as the fluttering silicon floes on the silicon tree, the turbulent water at night... "The Story of Old Reis" presents several major audiences with excellent pictures. The animation studio took on the challenge, looking eager to become the industry's technical benchmark. However, in the era when the special effects of live-action movies can already be faked, although technology is an important element for an animation to become a boutique, it is no longer the main element. The reason why Pixar is Pixar is not its leading technology, but its excellent story core. But "The Story of Old Reis" gave me the feeling that it just told a simple story, and this story would not even give me any desire to relive it. On the contrary, Light Entertainment's last work "Despicable Me" is one of my favorite animations.
In my opinion, today's major Hollywood animation studios have more or less their own "labels". This is the kind of smell, that is, when you see the picture, you can smell the origin of the animation. But "The Story of Old Leis" didn't give me such a feeling. You might say that its qualifications are still infrequent and have not yet formed its own unique style, but I think that those very stylistic temperaments in "Despicable Me" , almost disappeared in "The Story of Old Reis". As I said earlier, when there is a scene of singing and dancing over and over again in the film, no one will doubt that this is a Disney work.
If put in a few years ago, "The Story of Old Lacey" would have been an excellent work, but in an era when Pixar and DreamWorks were unable to please the audience, "The Story of Old Lacey" was at best a qualified work . Its biggest function is only two points: 1. Let there be one more movie in the library of Lighting Entertainment; 2. It proves that Lighting Entertainment already has excellent technology.
Anyway, still look forward to "Despicable Me 2".
