Eugene had a murmur in his heart, but he couldn't wait to go to war. Dad told him that he was most worried that after Eugene came back, he would not have life, love, and spark in his eyes. At last Eugene came back, and at night his father sat outside Eugene's room with a heavy face, listening to Eugene's endless nightmares, howling and moaning. Eugene is a survivor of the war, his young comrade-in-arms stayed on a small island in the Pacific Ocean forever, but his soul lost its vitality with the lives of his comrades-in-arms.
